Salt in the Wounds in Salt Lake
November 6, 2014Michael Brantley and Corey Kluber save Indians season: While We’re Waiting…
November 6, 2014One of the big reasons the Browns went out and got a guy like Donte Whitner was to be a veteran presence as well as an experienced, talented safety. Part of that job is having proper perspective in the locker room and on the heels of Greg Little’s immature revenge fantasies, Whitner proved once again why the Browns were right to bring him in.
From Pat McManamon’s report at ESPN…
“Bulletin board material is like an imaginary thing. The game is going to be played on a Thursday night. I’m not going to play any harder. He’s not going to play any harder. If you are, then you’ve been cheating yourself and your football team.”
Which sums up Whitner — and perhaps Little — perfectly. Players who say they will play harder in any one game are basically admitting they didn’t play as hard as they could in a previous game. One definition of being a pro is doing your best when you feel your worst.
Of course this story is right up McManamon’s alley. He’s been pretty notorious for mocking Greg Little over the years, and probably with pretty good reason. When Greg Little was faking it as he tried to make it, remember he did the Usain Bolt pose on the field after a touchdown. I believe he must have posted about it later on Twitter, maybe even after a loss, but accidentally spelled “#BOLT” as #BLOT. And the rest, as they say is history.
Of course, Donte Whitner isn’t perfect either. He “trolled” Bills fans earlier this year as their team was getting sold, suggesting that the team might get moved to Toronto.
Let’s just say it’s a good thing the Browns don’t play the Bills this year. That might have been some good bulletin board material… Oh wait, the Browns play the Bills in Buffalo on November 30th? Ah… I’m sure that won’t come up.

That Darryl Talley link is NSFW. Just a warning for others.
You can’t read bad words at work? Anyways that shows the evil side of Twitter it’s bad enough you have two athletes spouting off then a wife joins in which makes it even worse. Reminds me of last week when I Tweeted about Bieber being deported after attending the Cavaliers home opener and I was verbally attacked by three Bieber fans.
many workplaces have filters that will report those that are looking at sites with such language due to the propensity of viruses on such sites.
also, if Bieber fans were willing to figure out how to track you down to find you so that they could verbally attack you, then they have some serious issues.
Ah well I wear a raincoat when I surf the Internet so I’m always protected! 😉
As for the Bieber fans they saw my Tweet because it was in a reply to someone else. I’m guessing they must have been following that person. Either way it didn’t matter I had some fun telling them to do their homework, telling them to go to bed and asking if their parents knew they couldn’t spell, use grammar and spoke in such a manner.
