November 17, 2014The NBA announced on Monday afternoon that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named the Eastern Conference Player of Week for games played Monday, November 10, through Sunday, November 16. According to their press release, this marks the 46th time James has earned Player of the Week accolades in his career, the most times a player has earned the honors in NBA history. It also marks the 44th time in franchise history a player has earned Player of the Week honors and the 27th time James has earned the honor as a member of the Cavaliers.
Though the Wine and Gold sputtered a bit out of the gate, James led the team to a perfect 3-0 record this past week, averaging 35.0 points on .594 shooting, including .500 (8-16) from beyond the arc, 7.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.0 block in 36.7 minutes per game. He posted one double-double, had one triple-double taken away, and topped 30 points in each game, including a season-high 41 points on November 14 against Boston. Among all NBA players this past week, James led the league in points per game, while also being the only player to average at least 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
In the early season, James leads the league in scoring (27.8), while also averaging 6.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 39.0 minutes per game. The Cavs’ current four-game winning streak is tied with Portland for the longest active streak in the NBA.
Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers was named the Western Conference Player of the Week.

LeBron James is a bad man!
Apropos of not sure what, anyone notice that the Knicks have won exactly 1 game since opening night here? One day we’ll all ask … wait, not even sure what the question would be. Maybe: could you have pulled something out of the Cavs’ butt cheeks that night with a Caterpillar tractor?
