New LeBron 12 release dates: NSRL, Six Meridians, Data, Trillion Dollar Man
November 28, 2014Justin Gilbert a surprise inactive for Week 13
November 30, 2014A handful of LeBron James-based shoes is to be expected. But rivaling James ever-so quietly is his teammate, both on the Cavaliers and with Nike, in point guard Kyrie Irving. Earlier this month, a pair of see-through Air Force 1 lows with Irving’s trademark “K” on the heels were released in Cavaliers and Duke Blue Devils colorways. This weekend, we’re presented with a Player Exclusive (PE) of the Nike Hyperdunks, the line he’s been wearing on the court all season long.
Modeled after the marble notebooks that Irving famously uses to jot down notes to himself, a black Hyperfuse base is met with a black and white speckled paneling throughout the upper. Digital pink highlights and a bright blue translucent outsole provide solid accents. The insole comes complete with “Be Yourself!” inscribed in a hand-written font. And of course, Kyrie’s logo and reflective silver Swooshes finish off the look.
The 2014 Kyrie Irving PE is available now at select Nike Basketball retailers, and online directly from Nike Store. It’s retailing for $150, a very reasonable price point that is $50 less than other player-specific Nikes like James and Kevin Durant. If the rumored Air Kyrie’s do come to fruition, it’ll make for a huge year for the Cleveland point guard.
