December 20, 2014In celebration of the impending release of the Kyrie 1, Nike will be holding a Kyrie Irving-based “Dream” experience during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Friday night game against the Brooklyn Nets at Quicken Loans Arena.
Irving’s closest fans (read: those in attendance) will have the opportunity to purchase the Kyrie 1 before it becomes available at retail on December 23. Fans will be welcomed into The Q with Irving Nike posters with lucky sections receiving t-shirts, stencils and tattoos presumed to be in the reigning All-Star MVP’s signature “KI” logo. The emcees and entire Cavalier Girls dance team will also be wearing Irving products.
For the first time, Nike has created an interactive digital wall. Consumers will be able to experience the Kyrie 1 and purchase a limited number of shoes, socks, t-shirts and hats prior to launch. Those who make the purchases can depart the arena with their items (#TeamEarly) or have them delivered to their home. One fan who chooses the in-seat delivery will be a part of an experience broadcasted over The Q’s Humongotron.
Those who purchase items Friday night will be treated to limited edition packaging made exclusively for the in-arena event. The first run of Irving’s signature shoe is set to release this coming Tuesday at Nike.com in addition to select retailers for $110. It is anticipated that multiple colorways of the Kyrie 1 will be released throughout 2015.
