Donte Whitner to replace Earl Thomas in Pro Bowl
January 19, 2015Cavs vs Bulls Behind the Box Score: Things are starting to look up
January 19, 2015ESPN’s resident bracketologist Joe Lunardi has taken note of Cleveland State’s recent success. Lunardi has the Vikings as a 13-seed in his latest edition of Bracketology. Per these projections, Cleveland State would face Louisville in a rematch of the teams’ November 26 matchup, which the Cardinals won 45-33.
If these projections hold (a long shot, but go with me here), Cleveland State would play in the Midwest region. The Vikes’ opening games would be held just a couple hours from home, in Columbus. If they managed to pull off two victories there, they would advance to the Midwest regional, held in Cleveland at Quicken Loans Arena.
I know: it’s early. The Vikes have a long way to go before making the tournament, and playing near home seems too good to be true for a team seeded in the teens. But Cleveland State is playing good ball, they’re getting a little pub, and they have a real shot at making it to the Big Dance. For a team that hasn’t seen college hoops’ main tournament since 2009, this is progress.
Cleveland State’s next game is at home against Detroit on Friday, January 23 at 7 p.m. The full NCAA Tournament schedule and host sites can be found here.

I’m happy for Cleveland State… always liked rooting for the Vikings. 13-seed seems a little high given the wins on CSU’s resume (even given the auto-bid), but what do I know.
Agreed. I’m guessing they just got in here since they’re #1 in the conference right now, even though Valpo and Green Bay have better overall records.
