February 19, 2015In addition to spending time working on his physical mechanics and becoming a member of the top half of the Cleveland Indians rotation, Tribe starting pitcher Trevor Bauer spent a portion of his offseason building his own drone. Arriving at the team’s complex in Goodyear, Arizona on Wednesday with the rest of his pitching brethren, Bauer unveiled his new toy, which he used to take pictures of the expanse, and then uploaded them for fans to see on Twitter.
Home for the next 6 weeks @Indians camp. Thanks to these fans for coming out and supporting us already! pic.twitter.com/n52fLgTKPU

The son of a chemical engineer, Bauer has always taken his passion for how things work and translated them into relative success on the pitcher’s mound. While he says little in media settings, such intricacies like spin and separation and velocity created by “pelvic load” have always been a part of Bauer’s lexicon. That he created a drone at all should not be a surprise. What would be a surprise if it took him more than a few hours to complete.

But seriously, building drones? WHY ISN’T THIS KID OUT WORKING ON HIS MECHANICS HE CLEARLY ISN’T DEDICATED TO THE GAME LHGKFKFKYTDUFYTYD
Mickey told him to work on his mechanics, so Trevor went out and built a drone.
If that’s the case, I’d be afraid to tell him to “throw the heater”
Nothing goes over his head. He is too fast. He would catch it.
