Cavs confident Ray Allen comes to Cleveland if he decides to play
February 10, 2015A sick kid hopped on the sticks and Cardale Jones beat him 98-35
February 10, 2015I know you were all waiting with baited breath to find out this bit of news. Dwyane Wade has been out injured, and it was previously reported that he wouldn’t make the trip to Cleveland for Wednesday’s showdown in Cleveland. Apparently, that report was either wrong or premature. Ira Winderman reports that Wade is on the way.
Looks like Wade will play Wednesday. Traveling to Cleveland.

That’s bad news for Chad Zumock who was looking forward to not seeing Wade in Cleveland this week, but not really based on fear of Wade’s game…

It’s also bad news because we could end up with another conspiracy theory meeting between the two. On Christmas when the Cavs lost to the Heat it was wildly speculated that LeBron made a cryptic promise to Wade about reuniting. As our own Will Gibson pointed out today when talking about the Kevin Love sub-tweeting thing, this world of sports we’ve created is really really strange.
But for real, this is a basketball game. The Cavaliers bring a 32-21 record into the home game against the 22-29 Heat. The Heat are 4-6 in their last 10 games as Wade’s been out. Despite wins against the Knicks and Celtics, Miami has been beaten by Charlotte, Milwaukee, Dallas, Detroit and Minnesota in their last 10 games. Wade hasn’t played since logging 19 minutes against Milwaukee on January 27. It’s easy to dog Wade because he’s on the wrong side of 30 now at age 33, but take him out of the lineup and you’ll see just how valuable a player he still is to the Heat. he’s got a PER over 22 in 35 games this season.
It’s still thought that Wade will miss the All-Star game though.

Just to be clear, it appears that Wade is traveling to Cleveland but will not play in the game: https://twitter.com/MiamiHEAT/status/565229247854563332
Very confusing…Ira’s tweet saying he IS playing was at 2:13pm today, the Heat’s tweet saying he IS NOT playing came 9 minutes later. I thought it strange that he would play if he has already ruled himself out for the ASG.
Cold weather is really rough on rigor mortis.
i’m thinking that the Heat reminded him that the NBA would probably be very unhappy (read: heavy fine) if Wade played a game this week, even though he had already pulled out of the ASG.
So it IS for a top-secret meeting!!!!!!!
Good comment, thanks DK. I think it’s just as simple as Wade wanted to see his good friend and support his team. I don’t think he ever really intended to play today.
