Report: Browns Interested In Trading For Sam Bradford
February 21, 2015Report: Kendrick Perkins to sign with Cavaliers
February 21, 2015In a world where 270-pound bruisers don’t exactly grow on trees, the Cleveland Cavaliers may soon have two of them on their roster. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojarowski reports that the Wine and Gold have suddenly become “strong frontrunners” in landing Kendrick Perkins, the 30-year-old center who helped the Boston Celtics win a title in 2008, following an ongoing buyout with the player and the Utah Jazz.
While Perkins has yet to sign anything, indications are that he’s looking to sign a deal that would provide him with reserve minutes at the center position with the championship-contending Cavs. Early belief was that the veteran would likely sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, a move that would reunite him with former Celtics head coach Doc Rivers. The Cavaliers, however, have an available roster spot and a commensurate desire to bolster their frontcourt rotation behind starting center Timofey Mozgov.
Perk and Mozgov would be the ultimate Don't F With Us tandem in the NBA. Hoping they add Kenyon Martin for good measure.

Perkins is listed at 6-foot-10 and 270 pounds. He’s limited offensively (averaging just 5.6 points per game though his career) but as tough as nails on the defensive end, providing minutes (and fouls) when needed—he was the trade piece in the Oklahoma City deal that sent Jeff Green to Boston. Perkins would be the kind of fit that Cavaliers GM David Griffin would love to make given the player’s lack of need for the ball to be effective.
One of the unheralded players to come out of the 2003 draft, Perkins could soon find himself helping the Cavaliers get to the next level.

The would be the PERFECT pickup. Didn’t even realize this was possible. I was already resigned to signing Kirilenko’s corpse. I love this move. Plus, they can still send Harris to the D-League to make room for Ray Ray if they want.
still not talking to you.
