February 5, 2015Ohio State―wait, sorry; The Ohio State―no, still not right; The National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes (that’s better) will have some new coaches guiding the offense next season.
Running backs coach Stan Drayton has been hired to the same position by the Chicago Bears. He is the second Buckeye assistant to find a new employer this winter, as quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator Tom Herman also left Columbus, to be head coach at the University of Houston.
#Bears have hired Stan Drayton as running backs coach; he spent last 4 years at Ohio State, helped Buckeyes win national title in '14.

Drayton joined the Buckeye coaching staff in 2011, one year before head coach Urban Meyer arrived. Drayton served as Ohio State’s receivers coach in his first year, but he returned to running backs when Meyer took over in 2012. Drayton was also the running backs coach under Meyer at Florida in 2010.
A Cleveland native, Drayton was an important figure in Ohio State’s recruiting in Northeast Ohio. He was credited in luring Detroit Cass Tech running back Mike Weber to Columbus, beating out That School Up North for his signature.
It is not shocking that Drayton chose to move on from OSU, as he was in talks to be head coach at Florida Atlantic in 2013.
He will be part of a new Chicago Bears coaching staff under John Fox.
I will forever love my young men and the effort they display everyday. And I love The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!

College sports – as shameful as ever.
“He was credited in luring Detroit Cass Tech running back Mike Weber to Columbus by doing him dirty and not telling Weber he was leaving all along, beating out That School Up North for his signature.”
FTFY
So dirty, so horrible.
Now this poor poor kid is stuck with a full ride to The Ohio State University which we all know is a scrub school that will never be able to feature him on any prime time games for NFL scouts to see.
He probably should just quit football all together and pursue his other career options.
you have got to admit it’s dirty. as is gray-shirting, the way Saban (and others) handle injury exemptions, over-signing, 1 year scholarships, and many aspects of recruiting.
the same things is happening at UCLA and Florida right now, but it’s still dirty. The waterfall effect means it is also happening at ND and Texas (guys replacing those others), but it’s still dirty.
I agree with Andy Staples and wish that college recruits simply refused to sign NLI. It is a contract that ONLY benefits the schools.
