Jamal Lewis sells Super Bowl ring for over $50k
February 9, 2015Scorching Hot Takes Episode 4: A—blood Popsicles
February 9, 2015In less than a week, the NBA’s best (and Damian Lillard)1 will head to The Big Apple to put on its annual mid-year show. Nike has, in turn, taken each of its four signature athletes and put their likeness to New York-based landmark. For Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving, behold the City Hall Subway Station:
A city in constant motion, New York completed its legendary City Hall Subway Station in 1904. It was one of the world’s first subway systems known for its speed and efficiency traversing the boroughs. The subway station’s beauty turned heads with its unique tile design across strong, structured arches until its closure in 1945.
Kyrie Irving represents a new-age speed with an old-school flair to his game. Don’t blink because he’ll pass his opponents in a flash just like the “ghost” City Hall Subway Station. The City Hall Subway stop remains intact, but flies by in an instant outside the windows of the 6 Train. The Kyrie 1 is built for Irving’s game-changing speed and deception with its 360-degree dynamic traction, Zoom Air and lockdown fit.
If you watched what Irving did to Jeremy Lin this past weekend, this pairing makes a ton of sense. Odds are that the Lakers’ training staff had to unroll an entire package of tape on the reserve point guard’s ankles.
By now, you’ve seen the LeBron 12 “All-Star.” The “multicolor” Kyrie 1 version will also be released February 14 at Nike.com and select retailers worldwide, priced at $130. Thanks to Hypebeast, we have an even better look at the shoe before it hits shelves.

Thoroughly disappointed that these disappeared so quickly. The BHM are so comfortable that I wanted to grab these as well, as they look like they’d hold up to daily wear better (the one downside to the mainly white BHM style).
