Cleveland Cavaliers at Washington Wizards: Behind the Box Score
February 21, 2015Cavs “strong frontrunners” to land Kendrick Perkins
February 21, 2015Another off-season, another quarterback rollercoaster for the Browns. In what seems like an annual pursuit for Cleveland, they are once again looking for someone to lead their offense. According to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, the Browns are interested in trading for St. Louis Rams’ quarterback, Sam Bradford.
In the final year of his six-year, $78 million contract, Bradford has expressed interest in leaving St. Louis. The Rams have also mentioned that they would like to move him and his $16.58 million salary he will have in the 2015-16 season.
But, Cole also mentioned that a trade could be difficult because Bradford seems unwilling to be traded from St. Louis.
“He’s not going to go along with a trade at this point in time. He’s probably going to say to the Rams, ‘Look, either cut me and not pay the $13 million, or do some sort of contract where I can stay with you long-term, but I’m not taking a pay cut at this time.”
In his injury ridden career, Bradford has played in just 41 games in five seasons. He sat out all of last season because of a torn ACL (for the second time) he suffered in the pre-season. In 2013, he played in just seven games because of his first torn ACL. In his five-year career, Bradford has thrown for 11,065 yards, 59 touchdowns, and 39 interceptions, with a 58.6% completion rate. In 2012 (his last full season), he threw for 3,702 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, with a 59.5% completion rate.
Cole believes that it will take a second or third round pick in this year’s draft in a trade for Bradford.
On Wednesday, Jason La Canfora of CBSsports.com reported that St. Louis granted Bradford permission to explore trade opportunities.
Sam Bradford has permission to seek a trade. Finding compensation to Rams' liking will be difficult. But his agent can speak to other teams

Along with Bradford, re-signing Brian Hoyer and free agent and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, Josh McCown are also possibilities outside of the draft for the Browns.
Whether Bradford, McCown, Hoyer, or a rookie, hopefully this time, the Browns will actually get it right and be able to have a quarterback that can lead this team to the playoffs and stay behind center for more than a season.

I like Sam Bradford. When healthy he’s a decent quarterback. Might have developed into very good if not for all the injuries and being on a terrible team, but it is what it is, and “decent” is something that apparently doesn’t grow on trees for us. If he’s looking for a line that can finally protect him, there aren’t many better destinations than the Browns who don’t already have a top QB. I’m guessing that’s a big part of why he wants out of STL.
The big question is are his knees shot, and how much do you give up for a guy who will be a free agent next offseason? Given the dearth of quality free agent quarterbacks, the Browns would hardly be the only team interested so we’re not getting him without giving up something that hurts a little. I’d be afraid he might get injured again, but a healthy Bradford would be a substantial upgrade.

Hey WFNY, clicked on this thinking it might be more insight into Bradford situation. Nope, it’s a friggin’ spam link.
The Pirate’s House is a tasty restaurant in Savannah.

Huh. It’s one way to corner the “rehab” market, I guess.
not for me, especially at that price. If they would take a 4th rounder I’m willing to sample the dish.

Double price as its $13 million too and only signed for one more year. But, given the other options, it’s worth at least considering (agree on 4th)
Spend your time working with Conner Shaw.

Bradford has had his time and now the Rams must trade him or cut him and pick up a quarterback in the Draft!
