Kyrie Irving named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

March 16, 2015The Cleveland Indians social media account is not afraid to speak its mind. I know that’s a lot of weird pronouns, but I still find it admittedly strange when organizations and things use Twitter as if they’re people. Regardless, @Indians – whoever it is – is doing a bang-up job of interacting and entertaining along the way. Today, in response to a fan who called Corey Kluber lucky for winning the Cy Young in a season when he was only the second best pitcher, @Indians memed back at them accordingly.

I’m glad they’re doing stuff like this. The “award” for the first an to complain about Spring Training lineup for that day? Fantastic.
For entirely too long, these accounts were used for PR rather than relationship building/engagement. Glad to see the Tribe using Twitter for the greater good: Shaming trolls.
What I think is more interesting is a couple comments down a guy says “He certainly wins in WHIP, aka the ‘I have a good defense’ stat. #RandomSaberStatzzzzzz” He clearly was not watching the Indians at all last year.
Maybe I’m just reading it wrong. twitter’s interface makes my eyes bleed.
yeah, that was in response to the Felix fan (M`s had a good defense).
Felix won on ERA, WHIP
Kluber won on FIP, K`s, Wins, WAR
and, Felix also won on ERA+ so those stating things about ballparks are not truly correct as ERA+ is adjusted to ballparks.
really, they both deserved it and there wasn’t a wrong choice between them. the Felix fan decided he would say it was ridiculous and just keep repeating that Kluber didn’t deserve it, so the response from the Indians was succinct and appropriate.
It’s almost like awards voted on by the media are stupid and pointless so everyone should chill out.
I want that job. Whack a troll
