March 18, 2015The Indianapolis Colts cut bait with Trent Richardson and now we know where T-Rich will attempt to do his Marshawn Lynch impression. The Oakland Raiders announced the signing on their Twitter page.

I won’t be actively rooting against T-Rich and I hope he’s able to harness some of that athletic ability that wowed NFL scouts (at least in Mike Holmgren’s Browns) so much in the year that he was drafted. Unfortunately for Richardson, things might not be easy in Oakland. Richardson moves from a team that wasn’t great at run-blocking but was at least middle of the pack if you buy into Pro Football Focus. And even if you don’t buy into them completely, it’s notable that Richardson will be moving to a team that finished third to last in terms of run blocking in 2014.
The running backs in Oakland in 2014 included Darren McFadden, Latavius Murray and a 29-year-old Maurice Jones-Drew who recently retired after a nine-year career. Those three combined for just over 1,000 yards and four touchdowns combined for the 2014 season. Just for comparison sake, the Browns had 16 touchdowns from Terrance West, Isaiah Crowell and Ben Tate combined with their offensive line.
May the force be with you, T-Rich.

That’s about right, checking into the NFL’s Last Chance Hotel. I wish him well, too.
I thought that was Arizona? We send our QBs to die there anyways….
Pretty much where careers go to die.
The pumpkin heads may have gotten a first round pick from Indianapolis for Richardson but never forget that the pumpkin heads traded up from #4 to #3 with Minnesota in order to make sure they got Richardson!

Good luck, Trent.
I love this so much. This is such a Raiders move 🙂
We’re (in the comments) looking down our noses at Oakland? Let’s not forget, Browns fans, that Oakland has 13 more wins than we do since 1999.
