Recapping the latest BS Report with Brian Windhorst
April 2, 2015C-Cap Recap: Spring Training Stats Edition
April 2, 2015He may be the subject of mean tweets and tongue-in-cheek posts about a Brofari, but there’s no denying that Nick Swisher is all about the city of Cleveland.
In a recent image captured and subsequently shared by Uni Watch’s Phil Hecken, we get a great look at Swisher’s New Balance 4040v2 Cleats that are brandished with the Cleveland skyline and the area code of 2-1-6. While it would be fun to think this is a new addition, Swisher’s CLEats (see what we did there) have been around since the beginning of the 2014 season. That these are just being shared now makes a bit of sense given the way the veteran’s season turned out last year as he experienced a short stint due to multiple knee injuries.
Custom cleats have been a thing for much of Swisher’s career. In 2012, New Balance and Swisher raised money for a military charitable organization, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. In doing so, Swisher wore New Balance military-inspired custom cleats during the New York Yankees’ Military Appreciation Day.

Those look sweet.
I agree. It’s hard to knock this guy I just wish he could stay healthy and provide some on-field production. Maybe it’s coming.
Unfortunately, his bat represents an industrial smokestack that no longer produces:(
