Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Hill have a history as the young girl was greeted and befriended by James earlier this season after the four-time MVP had heard her story. Upon hearing of her passing James delivered a series of tweets that have been shared thousands of times, combining to form one, perfect message for Hill.

Until we officially meet again, take care and continue to be that LEADER we all love! #RIPLaurenHill
Sincerely,
LeBron James— LeBron James (@KingJames) April 10, 2015
Following the team’s shootaround this morning, James spoke of Hill as a “leader” and an “inspiration.”
“You never want anyone’s life to be taken away because of an illness,” said James. “But I think she’s in a better place now. Every day struggles she had to deal with throughout her treatment and throughout her care, and everyone, she’s in a better place now. The man above doesn’t make any mistakes and while she was here on Earth, with her presence, she inspired a lot of people.”
Upon learning of her diagnosis, Hill reportedly managed to raise $1.4 million in cancer-fighting efforts.
