Ball Played: Indians remain in AL cellar
April 29, 2015Striving for Greatness
April 29, 2015Despite no longer having power forward Kevin Love at their disposal, the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are the second seed in the Eastern Conference, still have the second best odds to be crowned as the NBA Champions at 12-5, according to Las Vegas. The 12-5 odds are second to the Golden State Warriors, who moved ahead of the wine and gold following the injury, and now have 8-5 odds of winning it all, according to Bovada Sportsbook.
Before the postseason began, Westgate Superbook listed the Cavaliers with 9-4 odds, the best odds for any playoff team. The Warriors were second at 5-2 with only the San Antonio Spurs given anything greater than a 10 percent shot. Without one of their stars in Love, the Cavaliers now have a much tougher road of bringing Cleveland their first championship since 1964, but obviously, it is still very possible.
With arguably the best player in the world, LeBron James, and one of the best point guards in the NBA, Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers can never be count out and Vegas realizes that. Helping matters is the perpetually crowded Western Conference that will weed out several tough teams over the course of the next few weeks.
Cleveland is awaiting the winner of the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks series, in which the Bulls currently lead the series, 3-to-2. The winner of that series will travel to Cleveland to take on the wine and gold in the Eastern Conference semifinals beginning Monday night.

If we don’t make it, whoever we lose to can give that hack Olynyk a cut of the winner’s share.
We need some good karma from somewhere to offset the bad. (Yes, that’s how desperate, depressed, and delusional I am, begging for karma.)
Minus Love and seeing how the Bulls/Hawks have been falling apart I totally agree with Vegas that Cavs are still the favorite out of the East.
……and if the Cavs won the East and then lost in the Finals we’d all have to be honest with ourselves and say; yep that’s what a lot of us expected even WITH Love playing.
Disappointing but also meeting our beginning of the year expectations.
I wish Karma was a 6’11″/6’12” PF who had a mid-range jumper and could rebound.
Yeah, we should sign Jaamel Karma. He’s 6’12”.
Off-season will be real interesting for Cavaliers.
The Hawks and Bulls have been exposed badly in this round. I can still see Cleveland going to the Finals. Of course nobody will mention that though.
It would be even better if that 6’12” PF was 7’0″. Wait a second…
