Happy NBA Finals Eve (and Men in Blazers): While We’re Waiting…
June 3, 2015Ball Played: C is for Carrasco, and that’s good enough to win
June 3, 2015This is the kind of thing that makes baseball special. Only in baseball do you have a season that’s long enough and a roster that includes important players on the roster who spend the majority of their time watching the game and finding interesting ways to pass the time until their name is called. Only in baseball can you have a story like this where the Indians’ bullpen captures Brandon Moss’ 100th career home run ball and then spends the time to put together a detailed, itemized ransom note demanding a bounty in exchange for the token of Moss’ achievement.
Our bullpen caught Moss' 100th home run ball.

Obviously, these items (excluding the one that I’m not mentioning) are all Apple products. It’s no coincidence that all these items are used to pass the time. That tells you all you need to know about life in a Major League bullpen.
My favorite request? Ricky. I’m assuming this is Ricky Pacione, who is on the Indians coaching staff as a bullpen catcher and whose resume includes throwing batting practice. Ricky’s no dummy though. He not only wants an iPad, but leads with a request for $5,000 cash. Zach McAllister can have his iPhone 6, but Ricky’s going to be able to buy a bunch of them if he wants.

No mention of the 50k gallon drum of lube for Zep?
“(excluding the one that I’m not mentioning)”
He mentioned it by not mentioning it.
