Bode Plots: Which type of contact is affecting Indians batters the most?
July 23, 2015Teams interested in Mike Aviles; Indians won’t trade him while daughter battles leukemia
July 23, 2015Uniform aficianados will want to get a good look at the rumored alternate uniforms for the 2015-16 NBA season. With the Cleveland Cavaliers well outside of the two-year window for alternate jerseys, we see that the Wine and Gold may have a few more options at their disposal for the coming year.
The image above, courtesy of Tidewater News’ Andrew Lind, shows that the Cavs will not only have two different alternate uniforms—a Hardwood Classic and the return of a Cavs Fanatic option—but will also be partaking in the sleeved uniform craze, rooted in the team’s navy blue, complete with full-chest wine and gold Cavs “C.”
What the league calls a “stretch” alternate will look familiar to fans who were around for LeBron’s first stint as a Cavalier. The team wore these “Cavs Fanatic” uniforms during the 2009-10 season, featuring a marriage of the more traditional wine and gold scheme with the late-80s logo on the chest. The return of the Hardwood Classic uniform appears to be in order as well, featuring a gold base, wine numerals, and wine and white piping along the side.
Per NBA rules, teams will only introduce a new third jersey at least two years after unveiling a new logo and uniform set. Last season, the Cavaliers were one of just five teams to have an alternate “home” jersey (blue). As the image above shows, there will be plenty more alternate jerseys on the hardwood this coming season.

They are bringing back my favorite Hardwood Classic jersey so I’m excited.

Washington wins this round of “sleeved jerseys”……as much as a sleeved jersey could be considered winning I guess.
I have always liked the Miracle of Richfield style uniform and thought that the Daugherty style in the wine and gold colors would have looked awesome, so it’s great to see that too.
I dig the hardwood classics uni, and I LOVE the hoop-V on the wine/gold for the stretch uni, but I hate sleeved jerseys in general and don’t care specifically for the giant C with the little numbers in the corner. I wish they’d ditch the giant C at half court as well, or at lest shrink it considerably.
Best new identity: Bucks, but I’ll give an honorable mention to the Sixers for the less-is-more self restraint. I’m thrilled the Clippers ditched the script but I’m not sure I love the new font either.
Best new alternate: I dig the assymetric striping on the Heat whites
Worst thing I see: I really don’t like the Denver uni update, but the all white and all black sleeved shirts are terrible.
Best Stretch: Cavs, obvi.
Nope, no sleeved jerseys. I’ll leave.
I like this one as well as it’s fairly close to the original uniforms we Cavs fans were so excited about when landing a new NBA team.
I like all the Cavs jerseys except those ugly blue uniforms. Blue is not the team’s color. The only reason we had blue in the 90s was due to having a blind owner. “Oh yeah! Those look great!”
