Josh McCown throws two picks; Browns end half tied 3-3 with Bills
August 20, 2015Browns lose to Bills, but Johnny Manziel shines—for a drive
August 20, 2015J.R. Smith says he’s back with the Cavaliers. He states — underneath a lovely beach picture — that he opted out of his contract to “understand the landscape,” but ultimately decided to come back to the Cavaliers. That landscape has yielded a two-year deal – including a no-trade clause – with the first year worth $5 million and the second year being a player option, according to NEOMG’s Chris Haynes.
It all makes sense. During last season, Smith talked about how much of a great time he was having with the Cavaliers.
“I am enjoying myself more here than anywhere I’ve been,” said Smith. “I want to be here, hopefully we can have the same team next year if everything goes well.
“I’ve known [LeBron James] for a long time, but finally being on the same team and being able to get together on and off the court, it’s definitely better than I could imagine.”
Let the good times roll.

i’m pumped. He’s gonna be huge next year.
Glad he’s back. Just show up for the Finals this time JR.

If he’s huge that most likely means either a problem elsewhere or a lot of blow outs. The good news is now that exception could potentially be used elsewhere although I still think it will be used to improve the backcourt.
Welcome back Sybil. And you too, Earl. And you too, Joseph. And you too, JR. And you too, Mr. Smith.
Dirtiest player in the league! This guy is such a punk its unbelievable. Hopefully someone will knock him on his ass this season, give him a taste of his own medicine.
Re: “If he’s huge that most likely means either a problem elsewhere or a lot of blow outs.”
Why is that what it means? You’re talking like he’s an end-of-bench guy. If JR isn’t starting at SG, he’s likely gonna be the first guard off the bench. He’ll have most of his minutes with the first and second unit, open looks galore, and it’s very easy for him to get hot. He’ll have all the opportunity in the world to be huge next year.
Mo Williams presence automatically effects JR Smith. It will most likely be a toss-up between whether JR or Mo is the first guard off the bench. I’m sure a full season will mean more opportunities for JR but he sure didn’t “go off” a lot last year. Also don’t forget about Richard Jefferson being around as well as Varejao being back. Less touches could be in store for JR as well.
Cavs would have won without him. Where was he in the Playoffs last season? Not excited about having him back.
Huge let down. Just like last season
