August 5, 2015Reliving the Indians’ impossible comeback win over the Mariners
August 5, 2015Here’s hoping the Buckeyes fare better than the Indians.
Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa and linebacker Joshua Perry (along with mascot Brutus Buckeye) made one of four regional covers for Sports Illustrated‘s 2015 college football preview. The Buckeyes are SI‘s preseason No. 1 team and the favorites to repeat as national champions.
Bosa, a junior defensive end, has been suspended for one game and will miss Ohio State’s season opener against Virginia Tech. He totaled 55 tackles and 13.5 sacks last year and enters the season as a potential No. 1 overall NFL draft pick. His younger brother Nick, a five-star recruit, recently committed to Ohio State.
Perry, a senior linebacker, has played in 39 games (24 starts) for the Buckeyes. He led Ohio State last year with 124 tackles (73 solo), second most in the Big Ten. The 6-foot-4, 254-pound linebacker enters the season as Ohio State’s active leader in career tackles and could crack OSU’s top 10 all-time tacklers with another strong season.
TCU’s Trevone Boykin, Notre Dame’s Jaylon Smith and Ronnie Stanley, and Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott made the other covers.
