College and professional football kickoff their respective seasons, baseball enters the final stretch of the pennant race—the ninth inning, to borrow a phrase—and people see Halloween decorations in the store and think “Already?”

Key Games:
September 1, 2015: Indians @ Blue Jays
As the roster expands to 40 players, the suddenly resurgent Indians travel north to cage the AL East leading Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto presents a challenge to the Indians who may still be dreaming of postseason baseball. The Tribe will need to be all but perfect down the stretch, and their stretch run begins in Ontario.
September 7, 2015: Ohio State @ Virginia Tech
The Buckeyes begin their title defense against the only team to topple them in 2014. The Scarlet and Gray will travel to Blacksburg where over 65,000 Hokies will be on hand to greet them in prime time. Minus starters Joey Bosa, Jalin Marshall, Corey Smith, and Dontre Wilson Ohio State will have a tall task on their hands.
September 12, 2015: Akron vs. Pittsburgh
In 2014 the Zips upset the Panthers 21-10 at Heinz Field. Expect a large crowd at Infocision Field as Pitt fans travel west seeking revenge in the Rubber City. If Akron wants to prove last year’s victory was not a fluke then Terry Bowden will need a strong showing from his team.
September 13, 2015: Browns @ Jets
Looking to win their first Week 1 game since 2004, the undefeated Browns travel to New York for a contest against the Geno-less Jets. In a battle of journeyman quarterbacks who holds the edge between Josh McCown and Ryan Fitzpatrick?
September 26, 2015: Kent State vs. Marshall
Kent State leads the all-time series against Marshall 18-17. The Golden Flashes and Thundering Herd have not met since 2004 and Marshall presently enjoys a ten game winning streak. The Flashes are seeking their first win in this matchup since 1978.

Anyone else going to Browns Jets game?
Was considering it. It seems so much more pleasant to watch it on TV though, especially since nearly every bar in NY will be showing it.
maybe. MAYYYYYYBE.
I have a friend who actually has tickets but I still don’t really want to go.
But Maybe.
