Hail to the NFL scrubs
September 4, 2015Does anyone know who will start at QB for Ohio State on Monday?
September 4, 2015On the bright side, you can’t be let down by your run support if you don’t start.
Cleveland Indians ace Corey Kluber will miss his scheduled start Friday night vs. the Detroit Tigers due to a right hamstring injury, the team announced at noon Friday. Josh Tomlin, a/k/a the Little Cowboy, will start in his place.
According to NEOMG’s Paul Hoynes, Kluber suffered the injury while running in the outfield during the Tribe’s most recent series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Kluber will reportedly miss one or two starts, but is not done for the season.
RHP Corey Kluber (R. hamstring strain) scratched from tonight's start. Could miss 1-2 starts, but expected to pitch again this season.

Losing Kluber, even if just for one game, will make the Indians’ thin odds of sneaking into the playoffs a bit thinner. The Tribe took six straight to improve to 64-66, but two straight losses to the surging Toronto Blue Jays knocked them four games under .500 and six games out of the second Wild Card spot, currently held by the Texas Rangers. With 30 games to go, it will take a rampage through the AL Central for the Indians to climb back in the race.
Kluber won the 2014 Cy Young award and is putting together another excellent season, but he owns an 8-13 record thanks to subpar run support and, in some cases, plain bad luck. Kluber leads the majors with 200.1 innings pitched and four complete games and is tied for fourth with 219 strikeouts. He has a 3.41 ERA and a 2.88 FIP, and is averaging fewer walks than last year. And he has the worst winning percentage on the team among regular starters. So it goes.
