October 17, 2015The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward-center Jack Cooley, general manager David Griffin announced on Saturday. It appears to be a non-guaranteed deal.
To clarify: Jack Cooley's CLE deal is $845,059 non-guaranteed (due to one year of experience). He's cheaper than Daye/Cunningham ($947,276).

Previously on the Cavaliers 2014 Summer League team, Cooley is entering his second season in the NBA. The 6-foot-9, 246-pound big man appeared in 16 games for the Utah Jazz last season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.6 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game.
The undrafted Notre Dame product also played in 20 games for the Idaho Stampede of the D-League last year. He averaged 16.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and shot 57.2 percent from the field in 30.8 minutes per game.
The 24-year-old Cooley has spent the majority of his short NBA career in the D-League. With the Cavaliers lollygagging through the preseason and eager to keep their frontcourt players healthy, Cooley could see some playing time before the regular season opener in Chicago on October 27.
With the signing of Luke Harangody’s doppelgänger, the Cavs have waived Chris Johnson, who appeared in four preseason games for the wine and gold.
The Cavaliers summer camp roster remains at 20 players, the maximum number allowed.
