All In: The Cavaliers’ spending ways aren’t over just yet
October 23, 2015Things of note in the Avon police blotter – Browns Friday Fumble
October 23, 2015Many words have been spilled on Kevin Love fitting in/out with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Officially, he’s now been a member of the franchise for just 14 months. And over that span, there have been many high points (think back to that crazy sequence against Utah) and the occasional lows (the threat of free agency departure). While his on-court play and off-court destinations have been thoroughly analyzed, there is a void of investigations in one crucial category: What the hell has been going on with his looks?
Of course, dating back to his UCLA days and before, he was far chubbier than he is today. I mean, check out these photos from his days in Lake Oswego, Oregon:
Over the summer, I recall many commenting on how he was becoming even more svelte. Besides just his weight, there’s also the legitimate worry over his (lack of) haircut. Did he only have a barber back in Minnesota? Does he know the proper way to wear a headband? Was he so outwardly concerned about the Tristan Thompson negotiations that he just forgot to clean up at all?
Here is a little gallery that I created showing Kevin Love’s various looks over the past 14 months with the Cavs. The (d)evolution may be shocking to some.
We’ve heard loud and clear that @sportsyelling is not at all a fan of Love’s new vibe. Do you agree with her?

KEVIN LOVES NEW HAIR IS AS POLARIZING AS HIS BEARD IS UNIFYING. #PROBEARD #ANTINEWHAIR

KLOVE WEARING A HEADBAND IS BASICALLY HIM TRYING TO BE AS UNATTRACTIVE AS POSSIBLE TO ME, WHICH IS UNFORTUNATE.

Do you think Love will switch back to his cleaner look anytime soon? We might need to create a #KevinLoveHairWatch to compete with the infamous NBA preseason tradition of #MUSCLEWATCH.

The GQ mag cover doesn’t even look like him, like I legit might not have known that was him if I was just walking past a newsstand, the 9/19 Classic IG post looks like he is ready to stand in for Henry Cavill in the new Supes/Bat flick, and the second media day just looks like a wig.
Looking forward to seeing him play this season. If he can avoid bad luck I think he’s going to have a tremendous season.
I always smh when the fashion police show up in athletics. I could care less if he was bald, had hair that reached to his waist or had a Billy Preston fro. As long as he’s playing for the Cavs, that’s all I care about. A person can also tell what era or how old they are by their tastes of hair. There’s that 30 something y.o. group of people that think the skin head look is still in and they also think they’re still teenagers.
