The (AFC) North Remembers: Browns-Ravens Preview
October 9, 2015WFNY Roundtable: Weak and weary, hoping Browns vs. Ravens is not dreary
October 9, 2015For all of the banter about the Baltimore Ravens being banged up, the trainers tables in M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday may have a waiting list. With the official injury list for Week 5 being released, the Cleveland Browns will undoubtedly be without linebacker Craig Robertson and Pro Bowl free safety Tashaun Gipson, the latter of whom is listed as having an ankle injury.1
Making matters worse, cornerback Joe Haden and wide receiver Brian Hartline are both officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest against the Ravens, meaning that the secondary fans were so high on heading into this season could very well be without two of its starting four. Haden was a subject of scrutiny this past week after being listed as probable for Week 4 but being inactive for the game against the San Diego Chargers.
Players who have been upgraded heading into the weekend include running back Robert Turbin and defensive end Desmond Bryant (both questionable) with special teams extraordinaire Johnson Bademosi being listed as probable. Despite the listing, Turbin reportedly followed up saying he and the team would be waiting another week before activating him.
On the other side of the coin, Baltimore’s Steve Smith Sr. (back), Breshad Perriman (knee), Crockett Gilmore (calf) and Chris Canty (calf) did not practice on Friday and would all be a long shot to play this Sunday afternoon. The Ravens will rely primarily on running back Justin Forsett and wide receiver Kamar Aiken to carry the load for quarterback Joe Flacco.
- Jordan Poyer will start for Gipson; Chris Kirksey will continue to start for Robertson. [↩]
