Browns WR Darius Jennings active versus the Bengals over healthy Dwayne Bowe
December 6, 2015Ohio State will take on Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl
December 6, 2015If you’re hoping for a traditional recap, I suggest you go elsewhere. This team doesn’t earn that level of attention during the game anymore. They’re injured, but they are completely without pride at this point in the season. I watched the whole thing, but if they’re not going to bother playing for a full game anymore, then I’m not going to pretend like there’s any point to breaking things down. The Browns lost from wire to wire with a final score of a whole lot to a whole little. Specifically it was I decided to (try to) have some fun during the game. Here are the things I was thinking about and found to talk about during the game.

Not even STO's Indians crew and their tight shots could make this crowd look big.

The only thing worse than a boring bad Browns game is one with Matt Millen doing half-assed Airplane movie quotes.

FACT:
If you aren't going to cover A.J. Green, he will score touchdowns. #CINvsCLE https://t.co/34TkdisPwV

The Bengals are really used to running that play, by the way. A.J. Green might be a wizard with powers over defenses to just leave him wide open.
How is A.J. Green left this wide open?
In the end zone.
Just, how? #STLvsCIN https://t.co/DSyWalMeTm— NFL (@NFL) November 29, 2015
What happens when you google "a long time ago in a galaxy far far away?" It's pretty cool.

Why? Because "your team" moved to Baltimore and I won a Super Bowl with them 5 short years later? Yeah, that's why. https://t.co/JQtix6obHX

Johnny Manziel's penalty is like Private Pyle from Full Metal Jacket. We're doing pushups and he's eating that jelly donut on the sidelines.

We should really stop doing that as Browns fans. We probably won’t.

I agree 1000% plus anyone associated with the Cleveland Browns offensive line is playing horribly. Perhaps having their position coach fired did make a difference.
“Just imagine what it must have been like to hear chirping about your play calling from the guy who built the worst roster iteration for this franchise since the return.”
I hear you, and I’m not disagreeing, but can we also give partial credit to Lombardi for this mess? You know, because he’s not good and we don’t like him.
What makes Millen TV commentator so bad though is Millen the GM. Hard to take anything seriously from the guy who built the only 0-16 team in NFL history
Ok, isn’t it time that Haslem gives serious consideration to promotions like letting a fan be “GM for a week”? There are so many opportunities out there like that the browns could try and the fans would love them for it. It’s time we give up on the whole “winning football team” thing. Let’s just make this a fun, community serving, functional member of NEO society.
At the end of the day, the results speak for themselves. But besides Manziel (and maybe Gilbert with his off-field question marks), most (all?) of the draft picks for the last 3 years have been applauded. (Sure, the Bowe FA signing was panned at the time.) So it’s absolutely the case that (i) Farmer gets paid a lot of money to do what he’s supposed to be good at and (ii) the team is devoid of talent…but what I don’t get is that he made moves that were respected and objective folks generally gave the Browns good post-draft grades. It’s just that *none* of the picks have worked out — and that’s almost impossible to do. It’s like, the picks were made in good faith and with a fair amount of diligence — and most people thought this at the time — and yet, here we are.
I hear ya, but I just can’t give Farmer that benefit of the doubt that his picks were basically applauded by those in the know. Every draft pick looks good at the time, especially early rounds. That’s just how the draft works. For me, Gilbert is the worst example of negligence. If you’re picking in the top ten, you know you’ll get one of probably 5 guys that are at the very top of your board. That means you only need to interview 5-7 guys, and they never talked to Justin. The write up in Cleveland Scene recently shows just how blatant the mistake of picking Gilbert was, because according to the author, you can tell he’s incredibly entitled, and, what’s probably worse, aloof. He has no interest in getting to know his teammates.
Gilbert is just the most visible example of Farmer’s failing. Ray picks were probably praised by some at the time because they assumed Farmer was actually evaluating talent pre-draft (besides watching old game footage).
