Done with the Browns? Lets stream some baseball: While We’re Waiting
December 1, 2015Indians sign Joba Chamberlain to a minor league deal
December 1, 2015The Cleveland Browns will have yet another decision to make regarding their starting quarterback as Josh McCown’s season is likely over. Late in Monday night’s insane loss to Baltimore, McCown took a hit from Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams that, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, may have led to a broken collarbone.
With Johnny Manziel demoted to third string, Austin Davis replaced McCown with 8:29 left in the game and tied it at 27 on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin with 1:47 remaining. The Browns would go on to intercept a Matt Schaub pass on the ensuing drive, but would go on to have their game-winning field goal attempt blocked and returned for a game-ending touchdown.
“We’ll watch the tape and discuss that (Tuesday),” Browns head coach Mike Pettine said of his starting quarterback situation. “I’m not prepared to answer that just yet.”
The hit sustained by McCown was one of several shots taken by the veteran starting quarterback. If in fact he is finished for the season, he will have put up 2,109 yards (63.7 percent completion), 12 touchdowns and just four interceptions in eight games.

McCown is the best post-expansion QB we’ve had.

Translation: If he can breathe, he’ll start.
Another consequence of Johnny StraightFromTheBottle’s asinine behavior. If he had acted like an adult this past week, an already beat-up McCown wouldn’t have been out there letting our “elite” offensive line get him killed.
Nice going, 2. You’re the perfect leader for this ClusterDumpsterTrain mess.
Man McCown deserves better than this.
I feel really bad for McCown. He was clearly too injured to play and had been having a pretty good year overall. Now he’s out for the season and he needs to play as much as possible to find a job next year.
Blaming a benched quarterback for the offensive line not being able to block is a next level ridiculous statement.
Not to mention if McCown was not healthy enough to start, Pettine should have started Davis.
I think Tampa was 2-14 last year…this is on pace to be at least as good!
I’m sure PFF will grade out our O-Line at an A+, or a 100%, or whatever ridiculous stat they use.
Thankya. Thankya ver’ much.
They resigned Terrelle Pryor!
well played
Hey at least we have TP back!
I assume that means JFF will continue to be the third-string QB. lol
was he on anyone’s practice squad?
Get rid of Bowe. Admit defeat
If you stop caring about wins and losses, or the notion of bein g”good” and just look at this as yet another season of elaborate performance art (each game is its own episode) it’s really quite fascinating. And you sleep better
Embrace the absurdity.

No….no, no, no. No.
I mean, you can formulate an argument for it, which is sad. But, all those turnovers, back-breaking sacks, and inability to stay healthy ruins it.
They’ll probably use him as a WR!
But the movie isn’t even half over!
The same can be said of EVERY quarterback we’ve had post-expansion, but he is probably the only one with a positive TD-to-INT ratio.
JFF at WR, eh?. Intriguing…
I said it before, last night was the funniest thing I have seen on TV this entire fall. I was literally ROFLing at points.

Toilet paper? That explains the crappiness.
“Austin Davis replaced McCown with 8:29 left in the game and tied it at 27 on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin”
WAIT WAIT WAIT, YOU MEAN QUARTERBACKS NOT NAMED MANZIEL ARE CAPABLE OF THROWING DEEP ROUTES TO BENJAMIN FOR TOUCHDOWNS?!?!?!
McCown never did.
While 12TDs and 4 INTs is the best Browns QB since 1999, the one big McCown mistake of the game was staying in when he knew he should not have. I don’t care that he took himself out later, one look at him in pain on the sidelines some coach should have pulled him for Austin Davis right away.
Pin that one on moron stubborn coaches trying to McCown Manziel to death. Austin Davis-ing him to death would have been better for the team.
Johnny Manziel is in that category (as are others).
But, fumbles have to count to the turnover number (McCown has 9 fumbles).
Pryor but I like this idea too. Maybe he can be as good as Julian Edelman is for Patriots. Oh wait I’m not supposed to mention the Patriots that’s trolling right CB Everett?
I don’t think so. He was picked up after being cut but I don’t think he stuck with whoever picked him up.
I was kidding, but maybe Bill’s affinity for smurfy white receivers could play into our hands and Farmer could foist him off onto NE, instead of handing him over to Jimmah.
