Johnny Manziel unlikely to play Week 17 due to concussion
December 30, 2015Football on New Year’s Eve and “Heat” turns 20: While We’re Waiting…
December 31, 2015With the Fiesta Bowl set for Friday afternoon, the Ohio State video and graphic team has released the second (and I assume final) trailer for the Buckeyes’ matchup against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
While the scarlet and gray may not have made the second edition of the College Football Playoff, thus losing their chance to repeat as back-to-back national champions, Ohio State will participate in one of the best bowl games outside of the Final Four. Not only do they have a lot to play for, including beating a top-10 team in the country, this will be the final game for many Ohio State players due to the fact that they will either be graduating or — if they are juniors or redshirt sophomores — could leave school early and declare for the NFL Draft.
With three losses between the two teams (all three losses came to teams ranked in the top-6 of the College Football Playoff rankings and two of which are in the Final Four) there is a lot at stake for Friday’s matinee which will take place in the home of the Arizona Cardinals.1
If for some reason you missed the first trailer for the Fiesta Bowl matchup between the Bucks and Irish, make sure you check it out! Be prepared to get chills and goosebumps when you watch either (or both) of the Fiesta Bowl trailers, Buckeye Nation.
Ohio State will take on the Fighting Irish in Glendale, Arizona, January 1 at 1 p.m. ET in University of Phoenix Stadium. This will be the first matchup between the two schools since the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, when the Troy Smith-led Buckeyes beat the Brady Quinn-led Irish, 34-20.
- Ohio State lost to current No. 3 Michigan State on a last-second field goal, and Notre Dame lost each of their games by two points, at No. 1 Clemson and at No. 6 Stanford. [↩]
