The Indians just might be the most exciting Cleveland team to talk about right now: While We’re Waiting

March 15, 2016In Jon Gruden’s annual Quarterback Camp which is held before each NFL Draft, North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz was selected as one of the few gunslingers to appear on in the popular Quarterback Camp series. A potential pick for the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, Gruden thinks very highly of Wentz and even compared him to past quarterbacks over the last couple years.
“I think he’s the most NFL-ready quarterback we’ve had in the past couple years,” said Gruden of Wentz. Yes, this lists of comparable players includes quarterbacks like Oakland’s Derek Carr, Tampa Bay’s Jameis Winston, Tennessee’s Marcus Mariota, Jacksonville’s Blake Bortles, and Minnesota’s Teddy Bridgewater.
Whether it was rushing the pocket and hitting Wentz with pool noodles while he was preparing to throw the ball or giving him tips to improve, Gruden participated in the camp just as much as the North Dakota State product did.

The 23-year-old impressed the football guru both with his film study and his technique inside the pocket with his big hand size and footwork, Wentz impressed Gruden both on and off the field. In each of their latest mock drafts, both ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have the Browns selecting Wentz with the second-overall pick in the upcoming draft. With a career in Division 1-AA, with only a few games against Division 1 talent, some believe that Wentz isn’t prepared for the NFL due to the fact that he hasn’t gone against, but ESPN’s analysts still believe that he is among the best quarterbacks in the draft, if not the best.
According to his Twitter, Wentz enjoyed working with Gruden during the camp.
Had an awesome time with coach Gruden today! Love talking ball with someone as smart as he is! #passionate

California quarterback Jared Goff, who some mock drafts have going to the Browns, will also be featured on Gruden’s Quarterback Camp. Along with Wentz and Goff, former Ohio State gunslinger Cardale Jones will also partake in Gruden’s camp, along with three other quarterbacks. Now that Wentz has gotten the approval from Gruden, we will know in a couple short moths whether the Browns also give the quarterback their stamp of approval.
The Quarterback Camp featuring Wentz will air sometime in April.1
- For what it’s worth, Gruden was also a big Johnny Manziel fan and well, that story speaks for itself. [↩]

That’s a wonderful thought. you’ve got a real knack for wonderful things!
Better at what?
Winnie was the man! One of the greatest bears of all time. Maybe number 3 after Walter Payton and Yogi.
Thanks!
I’m definitely not an anti-Wentzite. I don’t even know what the word “anti” means!
SAGGY … it that you ?? did you change your handle ??
When I saw the draft of 5436 dollars, I accept that my friend’s brother was like really generating cash in his free time with his PC. …vt His aunt’s neighbor has done this for only 10 months and by now repaid the loan on their home and bought a new Car .

The exception that worked out for the best was Bortles. He sat for a few games before he got his shot, even though he was drafted 3rd overall.
I am a Wentz guy, and I still think McCown can do a respectable job (had a QBR of 93 something). Gruden judged Johnny on his football ability, not his party habits, and I think he was right. Goff is okay, but doesn’t fire me up.
