That’s right, the sports game of all sports games is only three months away and game-play footage clips are starting to pop up on the net. In all honesty Madden 09 looks much improved from the PS3 version I had of last year’s game. For some reason I was a little disappointed in terms of game-play.

Rumored to be added to this year’s game will be complete online leagues with drafts, off-seasons etc. as well as an overhaul to the play-calling process. Sure to be much better as well are going to be the player ratings for several Browns players such as Braylon Edwards, Joe Thomas, Jamal Lewis, and Derek Anderson. Is it too early to fill up the cooler with beer and start waiting in line for the midnight sale at Game Stop yet?

Oh, and if you weren’t already sick of Soulja Boy following the Wizards series, then you’ll enjoy Randy Moss’ TD celebration at that end of the clip. Woo hoo!

    This looks great!

I heard that when playing with the Patriots you can put in a cheat code during defensive plays and a digital Matt Walsh will pop up to show you what the opposing team is going to run.

i dunno man…the PS3 was really disappointing compared to the Xbox version, and this clip is the Xbox version…so im expecting continued disappointment.

I have been enjoying Madden less and less since it came to the next gen systems. It is way too arcadey for me. You should not be able to drop back 20 yards, roll out and then launch a bullet 60 yards downfield.

I thought the online leagues were a cool idea but you can play in a league with human players. There are no CPU teams allowed (so you need 32 friends if you want to play an NFL season) and the trades all have to be one for one, two for two, etc.

I actually bought All Pro 2K8 last year and really enjoyed that game

I didn’t want to vent in the post itself, but I was really disappointed in the PS3 version of the 08 game. The guys look/move like a PC game from about 10 years ago. If it weren’t for online play with friends that live far away I wouldn’t play it as much as I did.

I’m just praying that the PS3 version at least closes the gap on the Xbox version this year.
