Eric Wedge: Pre-Game Audio Regarding Jake Westbrook

Eric Wedge had a few words to say before today’s game regarding Jake Westbrook. Check it out below:

A few notes of mention, if you’re not up for listening to the whole file:

- Carmona is “hopefully” returning at the end of the month
- Jeremy Sowers will be called-up after today’s game and will take Jake’s spot in the rotation
- Sowers would have been called up sooner if not for the seven-inning stint last Sunday

And on a side note, Jeremy Bonderman’s injury is one of those that make you say “holy crap.” Check it out here. You never want to see a guy have a season-ending injury. Get well, Jake and Jeremy.

I am not ready to pull the switch just yet, but I read on ESPN that the Indians at least have their scouts out in full force in case they need to trade CC Sabathia away. Like I said, I am not ready to pull the switch yet, but I can’t deal with another Manny Ramirez type situation where an amazing player leaves and the Tribe ends up with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to show for it.

We are really close to that point of no return here. This is not a good baseball team right now.

Yeah, I wrote about that in the Byrd 100 game recap post. Huge three week stretch for the Tribe. This will decided whether we are buyers or sellers this year.
