Ohio State-Toledo Game Available to Public

Though two hours south, many Clevelanders don the scarlet “O” when it comes to their college football rooting interest. Couple this with the fact that the Buckeyes have not played in Cleveland in over 15 years, the Ohio State-Toledo game that is to be played this year at the Browns Stadium this fall is a pretty big deal. Unfortunately, when the game was originally scheduled, the only way to get a ticket to the game was to make a minimum donation of $100 to the Toledo athletic department.
Now, for whatever reason, the University of Toledo AD has changed their tune and will offer a select lot of tickets for public sale one week from today. The only catch: No phone or Internet purchases. That’s right. If you want to nab a ticket at face value for the intrastate game, you’ll have to trek up to the Toledo ticket office where there will be select seats for $45 or $55 at 9 AM.
If you’re wondering why Toledo holds the reigns to this one, the game will actually count as a home game for the Rockets. Cleveland.com reports that UT controls 58,000 tickets while the Buckeyes have 12,500. Somehow, I think that there will be more than 13,000 Ohio State fans come game day.
Odds are that these tickets will hit various ticket brokers shortly after the 8 AM sale. StubHub currently has a slew of tickets available for around $100 each. EBay is priced right around the same level with four-packs currently going for $200, though with over a day remaining. Have at it, folks.

As a Browns season ticket holder I was able to buy some through Ticketmaster. Bought 8 tickets earlier today.
meh…I would rather go watch em in The ‘Shoe…
Hey look – the home team is still gonna lose at Browns Stadium!
I went to the University of Toledo and it wasn’t hard to get tickets. First they had the minimum donation thing. That took away tickets. Then they opened it up to current students who were able to get 6 tickets a piece! So I had my cousin who is currently going hook me up. THEN they opened it to UT alumni. Then Cleveland Browns season ticket holders were able to get tickets.
So basically anyone I know that had a vested interest in the game, has a hook up.
LOL @ Denny – so true.
I wonder who the Toledo football team will have their money on
Who will be ranked higher going in to this game? A possible 0-2 OSU or a possible 0-2 Toldeo?
Possible 0-2 OSU? Get real.
OSU will be the best footbal team to play in Browns Stadium in years!!
