While We’re Waiting… Delonte West Returns, Movember Movement, and Browns Unraveling
While We’re Waiting serves as the early morning gathering of WFNY-esque information for your viewing pleasure. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email in the sidebar.
Welcome back, D-West: “They were missing that little spark at that point in the game when you needed one. They were missing that defensive toughness on the perimeter. They were missing one more guy that had the ability to stop a run by knocking down a perimeter three. They were missing one more guy that could create his own shot.” [Stepien Rules]

Not as bad… “We’re still of the opinion that Anderson isn’t nearly as bad as he’s looked, and that the Browns’ offensive line is better than average. But, as we noted yesterday morning, playing in the NFL without receivers of a certain standard is like trying to boil water in a pot that has a hole at its bottom. It doesn’t matter what kind of shape the rest of the pot is in. With a hole at the bottom, the whole pot fails.” [Cleveland Frowns]

Getcha Moustache Ready: “It was brought to my attention by a few members of the Trillion Man March that the month of November marks a very important time for lovers of mustaches and haters of prostate cancer. That’s because November has been dubbed “Movember” by a couple of Australians, which may initially sound like a month long tribute to GUTS announcer Mo Quirk, but is actually an event that was started to raise prostate cancer awareness (apparently “mo” is an Australian slang term for mustache). I thought Movember was just another event started by guys in high school who wanted an excuse to grow out their peach fuzz without upsetting their moms, but as it turns out, Movember is actually the biggest charity event in the world that is targeted exclusively for men, having raised over $47 million to date.” [Club Trillion]

“In the words of a 10-year old girl, “OMG.” It amazes me the Browns continue to find new and exciting ways to unravel each and every week. Entering the game, I thought the Browns were doing much better taking care of the ball. That all came undone. You aren’t going to win many games when you turn the ball over five times.” [No Logo Needed]

Eric Mangini is a disgrace. He has no respect for his players, the fans, the media, or anybody else. He’s all about power, control, and negativity.
Who would want to play for this guy? He has no personality, no spirit, no fire, no fun. He doesn’t inspire, he rules by intimidation. Screw him.

All I have to say for today is thank goodness for bye weeks and Delonte West.

MrCleaveland-I applaud you for your consistency throughout in using your mind in assessing what’s been going on, and not bobbing like a sheeple.

I know Anderson’s receivers stink, but he doesn’t help matters by never putting the ball on target, especially on short throws. Winslow and Edwards bailed him out a lot in 2007, something that this group of receivers can’t do.

Blaming DA’s receivers as the primary reason for his putridness is like blaming my inexperienced high school science teacher as the primary reason I am not a nuclear physicist. Whatever. Not saying he is the worst QB ever, but have never seen the position played more poorly. Badly misses open receivers right in front of him. Stares at his target and drools like they’re his first junior high crush. Confused expression. Consistently stupid decisions, horrible under pressure.
DA is a football Nuke Lanoosh: million dollar arm, ten cent head. At best, one day he will be a poor man’s Vinny Testaverde, hanging around the game long enough that some footbll intelligence and intracacies will seep into his thick skull while he still has enough physically to lead a team.
I came into the Mangini era with an open mind. But the handling of the QB position makes me doubt their competence across the board. Both players have regressed. What are the symptoms of an organization that simply made a bad hire? Maybe this is what it looks like.

Thank you, Isis, for finally using the word sheeple in a comment. I was beginning to doubt whether you were really all about the conspiracy, but this confirmed it. Anyone who has ever used the word sheeple in an internet comment sees their credibility instantly skyrocket.
And thank goodness Delonte is back.

ALEX YOU FORGOT TO USE THE SARCASM FONT. SEE. LOOK AT ME. IM SO SARCASTIC.

Well, three out of those four sentences were sincere.

I can deal on some level with Isis posting the same garbage over and over and over. It makes me chuckle. On some levels.
What I canNOT stand is when he practices flat-out revisionist history in an effort to paint himself as this “island of reason”.
I went back to the very thread we posted when Mangini was hired as well as the thread where Scott asked some Jets bloggers to give us a heads-up. to see how many “sheeple” there were bobbing their heads. You’ll be surprised to read the comments. Well, no, you won’t.
I can only speak for myself in defense of my assertion that Isis continues to be full of excrement in this arena of self-agrandisement. My own comments in both posts were:

and
And, it scares the living daylights out of me as a fan. Other than the caveats of “plays younger players when they deserve it” and “appears to be prepared for other teams”, what I read above had six or seven glaringly red flags as to why this would be a bad hire for the Browns.
I just don’t understand it. Fool me once…
But, yeah, I’ve been pro-Mangini all this time, drinking the sheeple Kool Aid in my bunker. Why must you be such a LIAR?

@#8 Alex: Only 3/4 were sincere? I guess you arent excited that Delonte is back then…
November 2nd, 2009 at 5:01 pm
YES THAT IS ENTIRELY CORRECT. I REALLY WISH WE COULD PLAY GIBSON ALL GAME, EVERY GAME AT AS MANY POSITIONS AS POSSIBLE. HE EASILY FILLS DELONTE’S SHOES.

I am glad that DWest is back!
