Browns’ Injury Recap

The Browns come into today’s game having lost Shaun RogersJamal Lewis, and Brodney Pool this past week to injuries. This alone makes the Browns roster look a little thin, as two of the three guys listed are pretty much the first Browns players that people would think of when hearing ‘Cleveland Browns’. But no, there’s more! The Browns are already without Ryan Tucker, James Davis, D’Qwell Jackson, Eric Barton, Dave Zastudil, and Steve Heiden. Davis showed glimpses of excitement early in the season, while D’Qwell was playing as well as anybody on the defensive side of the ball.

In discussing the rash of injuries that has descended upon the Cleveland Football Browns, Terry Pluto provided this gem in his Talkin’ column today:

When the Browns take the field, only three defense starters are likely in their original opening day positions: Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, cornerback Eric Wright and safety Abe Elam. Wimbley suffered a knee injury against Cincinnati and Wright missed Friday’s practice with an injury. Two other opening day starters will be in different spots: David Bowens (moving from outside to inside linebacker) and Robarie Smith (right end from left end).

So of the 11 opening day starters for the Browns’ defense, 5 are left on the field in ANY fashion (though Wimbley and Wright are suffering injuries), and only three are in their original spots. This doesn’t look to bode well for the Browns or their fans. Add to this the fact that, well, the Chargers are really good at football (especially offense) and you’ve got a recipe for a long Sunday evening.

Vegas can’t give the Browns enough points. 14 at home? Almost unheard of…

My Charger friend said they’re sitting half their team so we may have a chance

I hope LT and Gates do all their scoring. My fantasy needs them.

Maybe we’ll be surprised at the gems who have been sitting the bench all season. . . .

Shut up, I’m trying to be positive.

Sadly, they are on tv here in DC so I am going to watch. It should be painful.

What station is this being shown on? I’m in Columbus and I’m worried its getting bumped for Giants vs Cowboys if it’s on Fox.
