Strong feeling that we will see more than one Browns QB Sunday.
Worry the Panthers will pull a lame-duck-coach/pack-it-in effort, which will make Delhomme look solid, which in turn will make people claim he’s recaptured the magic.
Also, we must be getting the stupidest, annoyingest bottom o’ the barrel guys to do a network broadcast between two teams that have won 4 games total.
The Browns are the absolute epitome of the sentiment behind the phrase “waiting for next year.” It’s uncanny. Here we are again, a little past the halfway point of the season and we’re decimated by injuries, our identity is forming but still needs consistency (which is now out the window) and instead of looking forward to next Sunday I’m looking forward to next year.
I’m happy for Jake to get a chance to go up against the team he did so much for. Hope Hillis can get it goin and we’ll get at least 3 or 4 scoring drives. That’s all it takes.
This will be OK. It might not be much to watch. But we will win.
And honestly, by the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend I’m usually all football-ed out so maybe this is for the best. I’ll probably go take the dog for a long walk or something.
Delhomme is a good QB, will have a great game I predict against his old team. No huddle in full effect, WR’s catching balls and steady diet of Hillis to the face of the opposing D. Browns D gonna blow up whoever QB’s for the Panthers. Browns get back on track this week.
Broadcast team is Shaker Heights’ own Chris Rose on PBP and NC State’s Torry Holt on color commentary. At halftime Holt will suit up for whichever team is losing.
I don’t get the Delhomme hate. He’s not Colt, but Colt’s hurt. Delhomme played like 20 minutes where he wasn’t injured. Forgive me for being open-minded.
While it’s a bummer about McCoy, I hope the Browns do indeed realize they have someone who can be the best qb since Bernie. We have too many glaring needs to use a high draft pick to draft a QB. Given the weapons, Colt can do it. Smarts and guts more than make up for arm strength. BTW, anyone else envious of New England’s receivers? Watching the game today, I wondered, ‘why can’t we have guys like this?” And where were they drafted? Astute drafting and good coaching are evident.

I really really really hate Jake Delhomme.
Break a leg, Jake.
Figuratively.
Over/Under 10 snaps before Delhomme is limping off the field again. I’m taking the under.
horrible…horrible…so sad now
That picture is worth a thousand words, most of which would be deleted by the editors if I posted them in this comment.

Ugh.
To liven the proceedings, how bouts a drinking game:
– every time announcer says “better than their record” = beer
– every Hillis attempted hurdle = shot
I won’t participate, but you guys can let us know how it’s going during the open thread.
Finally, I am thankful for WFNY.
Thanks for your good, hard work, and for providing a decent place to vent.
Good holiday, folks.

this lowers my anticipation for the game from about 90% to about 20%. Ugh!
Yeah, now I wanna try to switch shifts at work so I can watch the Michigan game instead of the Jake Delhomme show…ugh.
Meh…

I don’t care who takes the snaps at this point. Can we really be choosers at this point? The browns have 3 wins.
Please just win…please…just…win…
Can I say “point” at least two more times? What would be the point?
Congrats Buddy!

@19: 20 pretty good minutes.
