Have you dreamed of making the final shot at the buzzer? In your backyard do you set up at the three point line and imagine LeBron driving the lane drawing the triple team and passing to you with :02 left on the clock? Have you ever thought that you could do a better job defending the 2 than Sasha Pavlovic? Feel like you could have made it to the NBA if only you had gotten the breaks? Then listen up. There is a chance for you to get your foot in the door. What happens after that is up to you.
The Erie Bay Hawks, NBA D-league affiliate of the Cavaliers are holding open try-outs at the University of Akron’s JAR arena this weekend. Is it a long shot? Absolutely. But for a few lucky dreamers it could be a ticket to a new exciting opportunity. Perhaps you remember a certain game last season, right after the big trade, in which the Cavs were left with a roster of only 4 healthy bodies? It was D-leaguers that filled the roster that night, passing and scoring alongside LeBron James and Damon Jones as the Cavs beat the Wizards. Now imagine that could be you.
Think you got what it takes? Prove it. Details about the tryouts are on the Bay Hawks official site here. It will cost you $150. Small price to pay for a chance to live out your dream huh?

omg i got this
Do you get to show you “have what it takes” to party like an NBA’er after the tryout? It is just as an important skill for essential NBA street cred …
I would love to go there just to watch the people that think they can actually make it.
And 30 years from now Hollywood will make a movie of you…ala “Invincible”
Just pray Marky-Mark doesnt play you in the movie.
Aside from my lack of dribbling, shooting, passing and general motor skills, I’m definitely NBA material. Sadly, I don’t have $150, so no dream come true for me.
@Labbe: Just put on a Wallace jersey. You’ll fit right in.
Slightly chubby out of shape 5’9″ inch white guys need not apply.
@ Cpl Yuk –
really? thanks for saving me $150
Actually, if you are 5’9″ and chubby, I don’t care what race you are…stay home.
