A Little Help From Our Friends…

It’s that time again. The Buckeyes have a week off, baseball is officially over, and basketball has officially begun. Couple all of this with a huge football game this Sunday, and we’ve had ourselves quite a week. With all of that said, please do not hesitate to check out some of our good friends as they’ve been putting out some great material. Do enjoy.
- Live from the Boston World Series Parade: “Cops haven’t closed the street yet, but already people are milling about, probably trying to get a sweet spot to see the Duck Boats and our Championship team. I hope Mike Lowell waves at me again like last year!” [HHR]
- To add a little music to your afternoon, First Cuts has the top ten songs about athletes. Somehow, “The Ballad of Chasey Lane” missed the cut. Stamina gets no respect [FirstCuts]
- If anything, the picture of Beanie Wells’ stiff arm makes this entire post [Eleven Warriors]
- If you haven’t seen Drew Gooden yet this year, you’re really missing out. Just when you think that the guy is finished, he continues to one-up last year’s efforts. From the neckstache, to this. [SLAMOnline]
- So much for that whole Jason Maxiell thing from a few weeks ago [Ball Don't Lie]
- “Anderson Varejao could play for me any day. The guy runs around like there’s no tomorrow and consistently works as hard as anybody on the floor. He has become an integral part of the Cavs’ defensive success on the interior, and he even poked the ball away from Pierce off the dribble once on Tuesday (though the Celtics got it back). That he had four offensive rebounds (nine total), including a putback to erase two James misses at the foul line didn’t hurt his case either. It’s frustrating to be on the other side from this guy.” [CelticsBlog]

I wouldn’t be surprised by anything that Gooden does with his hair at this point.
