Open Thread: Buckeyes at Illinois

Time: 12:00PM EST
TV/Radio: ESPN, WKNR/850 AM
Weather: 40 degrees, rain/snow mix.  Winds up to 23 MPH.
Line: Ohio State (-9.5)

How about a little vindication, here?  Today, the Buckeyes walk into Fighting Illini country to take on the team that prevented them from having a perfect regular season a year ago.  Illinois boasts one of the more electric quarterbacks not named Terrelle Pryor, and this time he has to go to battle without his prized running back who has since left for the NFL.  The conditions will likely lead to a lot of running, and if that’s the case I’m glad that we have Beanie Wells on our side of the ball.  Stiff arms, galore.

A player to watch is Illinois Arrelious Benn who is not only the Big Ten’s leading receiver, but is a pretty dangerous return man as well.  Last week, the Buckeyes ran a fake punt that could actually lead to an advantage this week as you have to assume that Ron Zook will be on the lookout.  Plus, talking about this gives me another reason to give the gratuitous name: A.J. Trapasso.  That’ll be all.

Go Bucks!

9.5 is a pretty big spread for this game don’t you think? Illinois is at home, they beat us last year….

The no huddle offense is killing us right now.

And yes, 9.5 points is way too much.

    Well, we’re up 10 right now… FWIW.

And WSW, you didn’t score tickets to this one too?

Is Dane Sanzenbacher a new-age Don Bebee? Dude gets beheaded even when he doesn’t touch the football…

Our defense seems like it gets burned the first drive then it settles down after that. We never throw the ball in the 2nd half i noticed also. Oh well. This game bout over

Wow. The refs really botched that play. Herron probably didn’t fumble. Pryor didn’t get the facemask at all. Other than those two things, the refs got the whole play right.

    Sheesh.

Lol right. I was looking like his knee was down and pryor didn’t even get face mask. Dane has been getting his head blew off in every game i’ve watched this year.

SO…Beanie goes out with a possible hamstring injury, and the announcers don’t bother to get an update? Thanks. Nice job.

    RE: Scott

Didn’t get tickets to this one because a.) it’s about a three hour drive from Chicago and b.) the fiancee would kill me if I went.

    Mostly b.
