While We’re Waiting…
While We’re Waiting aims to be the round-up of the recent WFNY-esque information for your morning viewing. Have something you think we should see? Send it to tips@waitingfornextyear.com.

Think that the Tribe should pony up some dollars this year? Do the names Kevin Brown, Mike Hampton, and Barry Zito ring a bell? [Sports Illustrated]
I can’t feel bad for the Eagles since the Phillies won a World Series, but at least we aren’t the only team with quarterback issues. [The 700 Level]
“You can see an obvious split in how this season is now viewed by the coaches as opposed to the front office. The coaches are sticking with veterans, trying to win every game they can to save their jobs. The front office would like to see youngsters such as Jerome Harrison, Alex Hall, Beau Bell, Martin Rucker and Quinn getting some action.” [Terry Pluto]
If Adam Schefter was telling me this in person, I would plug my ears and yell really loud until he stopped… [NFL.com]
“Did McDyess have a handshake agreement with Joe Dumars to return all along? We’ll never know for sure, but one thing is clear: he’s leaving a lot of money on the table. He gave up nearly $9 million to receive his freedom from the Nuggets, and the most the Pistons can offer him is the $1.9 million bi-annual exception. He had 18 teams interested in him, including several that could have offered him roughly $5 million with the mid-level exception.” [FanHouse]
The media called LeBron’s game versus the Hawks “mediocre.” Tell that to Al Horford and Solomon Jones. [Hoop Doctors]

The Pistons need to be investigated by Congress. Seriously, why would anyone leave $3million+ on the table. I guess Dumars must be really great on his knees.

Pluto makes a good point. The coaches are just trying to save their butts. Put in some younger guys, the season’s over. Leave Brady unless there’s a serious need to take him out, put in Hall, Harrison, Bell, and Rucker.

McDyess would rather play for less money with a team that lost by 26 AT HOME to the T-wolves. Hah. The Cavs should pick up Joe Smith when the Thunder inevitably release him.
