03/18 Morning Minute: The Second Half Strikes Again

Zydrunas Ilgauskas Jump-Shot
Clank!

Given the current playoff standings, the Cavaliers really needed a win last night against the Orlando Magic.  But, once again, the second night of a back-to-back stint provided this Cleveland team with a flat second half - and a loss.

Yes, LeBron put up 30, and is 34 points shy of the All-Time scoring leader for the Cavaliers,  currently trailing Brad Daugherty, but I’m not sure this will help matters much if we continue to lose on the road.  Torched by Rashard Lewis (21 points, all in the second half), Cleveland didn’t have an answer on the other end.  And as good as Zydrunas Ilgauskas was a game ago, he could muster nothing against the uber-athletic Dwight Howard.  2-for-10 from the floor, 0-for-2 from the line.  Awful.

Meanwhile, Sam Cassell helps the Celtics come from 22 down to beat the Spurs.  Great.

Can you believe that the Browns’ off-season program begins this Monday?  Unfortunately, one player that will not be in attendance is LeCharles Bentley.  He’ll be working out in Arizona, something that the Browns are “fully on board with.”  Why do I have a feeling that his restructured deal that allows him to become an unrestricted FA at the end of this year will come back to haunt us?

Talk about a fall from grace.  Remember when Byron Leftwich was a hot commodity?

And finally, if you checked out Rock’s piece regarding Bob Costas, you’ll definitely want to see Will Leitch’s post regarding a phone conversation that he had with Big Bob regarding his “feelings” toward bloggers.

Have a great Tuesday, all.

SO sad last night. There aren’t enough fudgie bars in Ohio to console me.

honestly, it’s getting painful to watch this team play. for every amazing shot by lbj, there seems to be about 7 flops by andy, a stupid turnover or 3…When is opening day for the tribe again?

Please. Everyone. Stop answering your own rhetorical questions with Yes, he said this or that or did this or that or whatever. I blame Pluto. Read him, you’ll see. It’s all he’s got.
