03/19 Morning Minute: Sheed’s At It Again

The wonderfully talented Natalie over at Need4Sheed has posted Rasheed Wallace’s comments from last night’s post-game interview. Two things you’ll need to know: 1) He’s excited to be playing against Ben Wallace, obviously someone that he still appreciates, and 2) LeBron is only “one of the better players” in the league. And is not a “King.”
Will Rip Hamilton at least have his name spelled right on his jersey?
Tonight’s game should be fun. Sarcasm, indeed. We really need this one given the loss to Orlando. Now excuse me while I take off my “Captain Obvious” t-shirt…
I must draw your attention over to Hardwood Paroxysm’s interview with Lance Allred, the D-Leaguer-turned-Cavalier. A pretty good story, especially given the fact that Allred isn’t your stereotypical basketball player. He enjoys chess, can’t hear well, and hasn’t exactly had the most storybook upbringing. A very, very solid piece by the guys over at HP. If we had some sort of awards over here at WFNY, one would be in the mail as we speak.
I’m not sure how many of you have caught the story of Ereck Plancher, the UCF football player who died suddenly during drills yesterday, but it’s a very eerie reminder of what happened to Korey Stringer not so long ago…
Have you guys/girls filled out the old brackets? Thursday will bring a ton of action. Xavier tips off at 12:20p, Michigan State squares off at 12:30, and Kent State will tip off after the conclusion of the first slate. Wisconsin will go at it in the evening.
I’m sure those in the offices will be getting a ton of work done…

Otherwise, I don’t think we could be friends anymore. The OSU-Michigan part of the equation is just not fair anymore. Can’t you throw us a freakin bone? Is it still a rivalry even?

I never cried during the 9/11 tragedies but balled like a baby when Korey died.
I am from Niles and got to play (was on the sidelines) against Korey the last game of the year when they allow freshmen to dress.
He was my favorite player and Minnesota became my favorite team when the Browns went away and I left for the service. Many of the things he did for the area and the youth in Mahoning County never made it to sportscenter and I only heard of them through my dad which was one of the few topics we talked about as disinterested Browns fans when I would call home.
Some day when I have the $ to finish my basement a framed Glossy of Korey will adorn the walls.
Not sure why I felt compelled to write this but thanks for giving me the place to write it.
