Cleveland’s newest acquisition on display at MLB’s Futures game, and all over the web.
There is a video on the Indians team site that you should watch if you are an Indians fan. MLB sent a camera crew to follow Matt LaPorta and capture his experience at the Futures game in New York. If you aren’t familiar with the game don’t feel too bad, it’s only been around for 10 years now.
The game is supposed to showcase the brightest talent in the minors, and all the teams (Major League teams that is) are supposed to be represented. Former participants include Grady Sizemore, Victor Martinez, Michael Aubrey, Josh Barfield, Fausto Carmona, Ryan Garko, Andy Marte, Adam Miller and CC Sabathia. (Irony, no?) Man, it sure does seem like a lot of baseball talk today. I wish we could be sitting here talking about the successes of our big league squad, but is it any consolation prize that we have some decent news about a minor leaguer?
