Who Wants a Josh Cribbs “Pay The Man” T-Shirt?

cribbsdetail04WFNY was on location at the Josh Cribbs appearance yesterday evening.  In our good graces, we managed to pick up an XL version of iLTHY’s latest “Pay the Man” shirt featuring none other than No. 16 and a stream full of much-deserved cash.  If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, I am former Browns wide receiver Steve Sanders is rocking it to the right of this here post.

Even if you’re not of the XL variety, this shirt comes sealed with a certificate of authenticity and a custom iLTHY Cavaliers Super Hero designed backing.  and makes for a pretty solid collectible.  Even better, it’s free.

So, how do you win?  [Read more...]

Ryan Tucker: Done for the Season

Well, that was brief.  After missing the first portion of the season while recovering from a hip injury, the 12-year veteran Ryan Tucker has been placed on the Injured Reserve with a knee injury – promptly ending his season.

Paul Hubbard Returns…For Now

Paul HubbardTake this for what it’s worth, but the Browns made a move today to bolster their wide receiver depth.  At least in terms of guys with “WR” next to their name on the official roster.

Released only a few days earlier, the Browns have signed rookie wide receiver Paul Hubbard to the practice squad.

I was a bit surprised that we released him to begin with, and with several teams needing desperate depth at receiver (Rams, Seahawks, etc) I’m a bit surprised he cleared waivers.  Obviously, teams are looking for a more veteran presence to their teams for now, but given Hubbard’s measurables, he couldn’t fit in anywhere?

Does the Drop Cost Wilson?

As a whole, I think we can all agree that Travis Wilson had a strong game against the Chicago Bears.  Sure, it was against pre-season defense and sure he may have had a few more targets than normal just to test the waters.  But he lead the team in receptions with six, as well as yardage with 57.  This would constitute a decent fantasy line in most PPR leagues, for what it’s worth.

But on the other side, his line should have been seven catches for about 80 yards and a touchdown if not for his unbeliveable drop down the right sideline – ultimately resulting in a punt.  Wilson had his cornerback burnt by a good three yards and the ball was right to his hands.  But it was dropped.  This has been the story of Wilson’s three-year life here in Cleveland, as unfortunate as it may be.

What does Travis have going for him?  Well, as mentioned, he did arguably have the best line of his fellow colleagues.  Couple this with the shoulder injury suffered by Syndric Steptoe, and he may have another leg up.  Paul Hubbard completely ruined a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter, one that wasn’t even intended for him.  Steve Sanders was solid, but unspectacular.  So does he make the team by default?  Or would it actually be because of his emergence in camp coupled with two solid games against the Jets and Bears respecitvely?  Or, does that drop mark the final memory of our former third round selection?

What say you?

Who Starts in Braylon’s Spot?

With Braylon Edwards tending to his stitches over the next couple of weeks, the Browns will have to decide what they will do with the vacated starting receiver slot for at least two preseason games.  This Monday night against the Giants will be the first challenge, as the Browns lock up with the defending champs.

The wide receiver battle is one of more intense of this year’s camp – which is not necessarily a bad thing given that all of the other positions are locked down.  But as Andre Knott mentioned, whomever starts this week, you would have to assume that they have a “leg up” on the rest of the competition.  But who will get the nod?

The current depth chart, at least per RotoWorld, has the WR1 slot as follows:
