Someone Has to Win the Central…Part 4
May 23, 2008Carmona Leaves With Injured Leg
May 23, 2008Browns Continue to Get Defensive, but Not By Choice
With the whole Daven Holley season-ending injuy and the resulting paper thin cornerback corps, Team Savage has reportedly struck a deal with veteran cornerback Terry Cousin.
Cousin has been quite the journeyman over his career, but had suited up for Jacksonville over the past three seasons. While he isn’t exactly Ty Law or Lito Shepard, Cousin will at least add a warm body to the CB ranks and looks to have stepped into a nickel back position right out of the gate.
Good news is that we appeared to have been a fan of Cousin before he resigned with Jacksonville last time around. The bad side to this is that he’s now that much older.
Fans that are hoping for a big name to join the defensive backfield may not want to hold their breath. The addition of Cousin will take another couple million dollars (though exact terms were not announced) away from any funds we could have used elsewhere. Is he Nate Clements? Not at all, but if anything, he adds a veteran voice to a relatively young group of DBs. That has to be worth something, right?

Need one more veteran imo. Plus one of the undrafted guys will have to make the roster. We can’t go into the season with less than 6 CB’s.
“Is he Nate Clements?”
of course not, but just some wishful thinking here, how nice would it be to get nate back in good ‘ol cleveland? another hometown hero to strengthen up the team, this time on D.
ok, done dreaming. you may now resume your day.
I still have a gut feeling that Ty Law is gonna crack and sign with the Brownies for a lower price. This signing is still good though
