2009 NBA Draft: Open Thread

Written By:  Rick   |  Category:  Cleveland Cavaliers   |  Comments:   314

The draft starts at 7:00pm, but the action has already begun. Windhorst has been tweeting all day that we should expect the Cavs to make some other kind of move, so we’ll be watching and waiting. Who do you want to see the Cavs go after? What will it cost? One thing is for certain- we’re all ready to talk Cavs again!

Boy what a strange day…Farrah dies, then Michael Jackson…sad…

    Now let’s talk NBA Draft!!!

First, what of VC going to Orlando? I think he’ll be a strange fit there, especially if he does the types of things that drive folks crazy (and that probably kept him from coming to Cleveland). Will he have the heart to work and to fit in with DH, Nelson and Lewis? Will they even be able to afford Hedo AND Gortat? I think Orlando looks a little thin at guard now too, trading Alston and C.Lee.

As for the Cavs, can they trade up? What can they use as bait? (The Shaq trade seems so yesterday’s news all of a sudden, doesn’t it?)

To me, I hope the Cavs stay in their spot, there really isn’t anyone worth trading up for unless they get in the top 10.

    3. June 25, 2009

@DJ – I love the VC to Orlando deal — for the Cavs. VC has been a me-first player his entire career.

Windy’s reporting the deal puts the Magic well over the luxury tax threshold this year and next. He speculates that the Magic might let Hedo walk and try and resign Gortat with VC now in the fold. If that’s actually the plan and Hedo does walk, the Magic just got a lot worse today I think.

  • 4. June 25, 2009

    I want Derrick Brown.

    Long, athletic 3-4 — just the type Cavs lack;
    Known to play defense;
    Comes from same school as recent late first round pick/multiple All-Star;
    Ohio native;
Name: Brown — rhymes with Frown.

    The total package.

AMC: Totally with you on the VC deal. I think he messes up the good thing they had going there. Bad chemistry. Plus, has the guy ever won anywhere?

  • 5. June 25, 2009

So far things are going as predicted- Griffin to the Clippers, Thabeet to the Grizzlies, and Harden to OKC. Things may start to get interesting with Sactown and 2 Minny picks.

  • DJ
    6. June 25, 2009

@3 and 4: Exactly my point earlier. Glad he’s not here. Having said that, it just emphasizes the point that CLE has to get a long wing player who can defend the perimeter, particularly whether it’s Hedo or VC (or god forbid both) in ORL.

LAC – Griffin (duh…though I feel bad for him)
MEM – Thabeet (whatever…it’s the Griz)
Zombie Sonics – Harden (like the fit with Westbrook and Durant)
SAC – Evans (I would have really liked him in CLE)

  • 7. June 25, 2009

    Evans to Kings at 4…

  • 8. June 25, 2009

    Minny selects…

  • 9. June 25, 2009

    …Ricky Rubio!

  • Tim
    10. June 25, 2009

I really want to see LeBron chase Rubio down and destroy a layup and see little Ricky cry like he did in the Olympics…

  • 11. June 25, 2009

    And…

  • DJ
    12. June 25, 2009

Kinda hope Minny takes Curry just to piss off NY.

  • DJ
    13. June 25, 2009

And NY breathes a sigh of relief…damn.

    Johnny Flynn? Really? Why??

  • 14. June 25, 2009

    Jonny Flynn? Really?

  • 15. June 25, 2009

I love Jonny Flynn but that pick makes no damn sense whatsoever. You realize you just drafted a point guard.

  • DJ
    16. June 25, 2009

    Cmon GS, take Curry…

  • 17. June 25, 2009

    Trade between Atlanta and GS

  • 18. June 25, 2009

    That was awesome.

  • 19. June 25, 2009

    And Golden State takes Curry

  • 20. June 25, 2009

WE ARE NOW OPENLY ROOTING FOR A TRADE WITH MINNY…

  • DJ
    21. June 25, 2009

O YES!!! Curry in NY would have been a nightmare, especially w/ the LBJ to NY vultures out there.

    Eff NY.

  • 22. June 25, 2009

Cavs might be able to land Ty Lawson if they can get Minny’s pick #18

  • Lyon
    23. June 25, 2009

What would be given up in that trade Rick?

  • 24. June 25, 2009

So now what for the Knicks?

  • 25. June 25, 2009

@ Lyon- Cash and our #30

  • 26. June 25, 2009

    Knicks take PF Jordan Hill

  • 27. June 25, 2009

    Toronto on the clock…

  • DJ
    28. June 25, 2009

Simmons tweet: Flynn makes no sense for MIN, Curry no sense for GS. Admittedly, I don’t know GS situation, but it still seems stupid, even if they wanted to trade one of them.

I would love for CLE to trade up for Lawson, but who would they move? Gibson? Hickson? Jackson?

  • 29. June 25, 2009

Meanwhile, Cliff Lee is dominating the Pirates, of course he’s only got a 1-0 lead…

  • Lyon
    30. June 25, 2009

    Well let’s make it happen.

  • 31. June 25, 2009

@DJ- Minny wouldn’t take Gibson with the two guys they just drafted.

  • DJ
    32. June 25, 2009

@31: Exactly, that’s why I wonder who they could move to get the extra Minny pick. I don’t see them wanting anything CLE has.

  • 33. June 25, 2009

Toronto picks DeMar DeRozan. In other words- pass.

  • 34. June 25, 2009

@ DJ- But you can only have so many players on a roster…

  • DJ
    35. June 25, 2009

Might Bucks take Blair, freeing up CV to go elsewhere?

  • 36. June 25, 2009

Minny had a full roster, then got 3 players from Washington for only two. 2 picks already in the draft, struggling finances…

  • DJ
    37. June 25, 2009

    Or Jennings…interesting pick for them

  • 38. June 25, 2009

    Bucks take Brandon Jennings..

  • 39. June 25, 2009

    New Jersey Nets up next.

  • 40. June 25, 2009

New Jersey grabs F Terrence Williams.

  • DJ
    41. June 25, 2009

Windy sure likes the pick for NJ.

  • 42. June 25, 2009

    Charlotte picks Gerald Henderson.

  • 43. June 25, 2009

Indiana Pacers on the clock…this one could be pivotal if the Cavs are going to move up.

  • AMC
    44. June 25, 2009

Henderson seems to be like a total bust in waiting.

  • DJ
    45. June 25, 2009

    @43: Very true…crossing my fingers.

Hollinger disagrees w/ Windy that Williams was a good pick for NJ…pretty funny.

  • DJ
    46. June 25, 2009

Hansbrough to IND…yeah, that’s about right.

  • 47. June 25, 2009

Indiana selects Tyler Hansbrough. That keeps the dream alive.

  • 48. June 25, 2009

    Oh Phoenix…what will you do?

  • 49. June 25, 2009

    Lot of “hard working” guys.

  • 50. June 25, 2009

    The Suns pick… Earl Clark.

  • 51. June 25, 2009

Detroit is on the clock… here’s hoping they mess it up!

  • 52. June 25, 2009

Foster, Dunleavy, Murphy, McRoberts, Diener, Hansbrough. Even Nesterovic. Larry Bird loves white players.

  • AMC
    53. June 25, 2009

Pistons have to go DeJuan Blair right? They have NOTHING down low.

  • 54. June 25, 2009

    Pistons select Austin Daye.

  • 55. June 25, 2009

Austin Daye just won a ticket on the Titanic.

  • 56. June 25, 2009

    From Windhorst-
There’s a couple of very good guards still on the board. But if the Cavs move in these picks it would probably be for a wing.

  • DJ
    57. June 25, 2009

    @55: nice lol.

He would be perfect for CLE…if they didn’t have to win NOW.

  • 58. June 25, 2009

Bulls on the clock…this pick is going to be a surprise to me no matter who it is. James Johnson?

  • 59. June 25, 2009

My guess is Mullens or Blair. Just a hunch.

  • 60. June 25, 2009

I was thinking maybe Mullens. I’d be fine with that!

  • 61. June 25, 2009

    Johnson is the pick.

  • 62. June 25, 2009

I was hoping for Mullens. Instead they picked someone who can actually help them. Too bad.

  • 63. June 25, 2009

    Lawson still on the board!

  • 64. June 25, 2009

    Philly takes Jrue Holiday

  • 65. June 25, 2009

    Minny is on the clock…

  • fmayse
    66. June 25, 2009

Brian Windhorst promised me more moves to come!

  • 67. June 25, 2009

    Minny takes Ty Lawson!!!!!!!

  • 68. June 25, 2009

    Something is coming!!!!

  • AMC
    69. June 25, 2009

Definitely going to be trading Lawson (or maybe Rubio) for someone.

  • DJ
    70. June 25, 2009

    @#$%^&* Minnesota!

  • AMC
    71. June 25, 2009

Awww man… Lawson going to Denver.

  • Tim
    72. June 25, 2009

interesting strategy- take all of the point guards and auction them off.

  • 73. June 25, 2009

Come on Windy…I need some info!!!

  • 74. June 25, 2009

Why do I always let my hopes get up on draft night? Danny Ferry never moves up.

  • DJ
    75. June 25, 2009

Lawson traded to DEN? EVEN WORSE!!!

  • 76. June 25, 2009

Meanwhile Teague is off the board.

  • AMC
    77. June 25, 2009

Denver basically picked Lawson up for nothing – an unprotected pick from Charlotte

  • 78. June 25, 2009

    From Windy-
Next pick to watch for the Cavs to attempt to get is No. 21 from New Orleans then perhaps No. 23 from Sacramento

  • 79. June 25, 2009

    Not holding my breath.

  • AMC
    80. June 25, 2009

Rick – would the plan be to move up for Young?

  • 81. June 25, 2009

    Eric Maynor goes to Utah.

  • 82. June 25, 2009

    Young or Blair I imagine

  • 83. June 25, 2009

Either of those two and you might see the Cavs willing to part with Hickson…

  • 84. June 25, 2009

At this point, I’m not sure that staying where we are and taking Taj Gibson wouldn’t be ok.

  • 85. June 25, 2009

    Interesting pick there N.O.

  • DJ
    86. June 25, 2009

    5 PGs in a row…

  • 87. June 25, 2009

Is Patrick Mills a risk worth taking? Undersized is so not what the Cavaliers need, but the 2 times I have seen him play he has impressed me a lot.

  • 88. June 25, 2009

Blair is the pick here for Portland right? And they get scarier…

  • 89. June 25, 2009

No way Portland doesn’t pick Blair. Unreal.

  • 90. June 25, 2009

    WHAT???????

  • 91. June 25, 2009

    And a curveball!

  • 92. June 25, 2009

    Whhhhhhh….?

  • AMC
    93. June 25, 2009

    Shaq on ESPN…

  • DJ
    94. June 25, 2009

Mental conversations? Is Shaq capable of mental telepathy?

  • MikeZ
    95. June 25, 2009

    Shaq off the bench?

  • 96. June 25, 2009

Shaq and Z are going to split the time at Center, so what difference does it make?

  • 97. June 25, 2009

    The Kings passed.

  • 98. June 25, 2009

6 picks to go. Come on teams, keep passing on Blair and Young. Do it.

  • 99. June 25, 2009

The Cavs are in good shape if they are looking for a forward.

  • 100. June 25, 2009

Ok, technically the Kings drafted someone. I have a theory though. If the player you drafted is from a country that has never had a person selected in the NBA draft, and they don’t have some kind of freakish skill or attribute…your team made a bad pick!

  • 101. June 25, 2009

I remember talk last year that the Cavs were interested in Budinger if he would have come out. I’m not a fan of his defense, but that pick wouldn’t surprise me if he keeps slipping.

  • 102. June 25, 2009

    Good pick there Dallas. (snicker)

  • AMC
    103. June 25, 2009

Mullens – it’s not good when you’re a center and your “needs improvement” is “post game”

  • AMC
    104. June 25, 2009

    Budinger = Wally 2.0

    No thanks

  • 105. June 25, 2009

Chicago might still get Blair at 26. That would be a coup for them. Unless Okla City decides to add to their stable of solid young bigs here.

  • 106. June 25, 2009

I’m guessing Memphis takes Blair at 27

  • 107. June 25, 2009

    I don’t necessarily disagree, AMC….just sayin, don’t be shocked…

  • 108. June 25, 2009

I bet Blair punches Noah by Christmas if that happens!

  • 109. June 25, 2009

Ha! OKC’s pick bought a ticket to the draft!

  • 110. June 25, 2009

BJ Mullens going to Oklahoma City.

  • AMC
    111. June 25, 2009

Why did the Mavs and OKC just flip picks – there had to be something that Dallas got in return, right?

  • 112. June 25, 2009

Maybe Cuban started reading tweets from Ohio State fans…

  • AMC
    113. June 25, 2009

Windy tweeting that the Cavs could move up for Young

  • 114. June 25, 2009

Windy: “It is possible the Cavs could flop with any of these teams and move up. Sam Young is there if they want him.”

    If only.

  • 115. June 25, 2009

Or else the Mavericks felt it was easier to spell Mullens than Beaubois when they wrote the name on the card.

  • 116. June 25, 2009

Ok, was Blair the one driving Stallworth’s car or something?

  • 117. June 25, 2009

Taj Gibson? Interesting. I thought that was who the Cavs would end up with.

  • AMC
    118. June 25, 2009

@ Rock, 107 – Actually, Buddinger being like Wally 2.0 is probably his ceiling. Seems like Luke Jackson 2.0 is also a real possibility…

    @ Rock, 115 – FTW!

  • 119. June 25, 2009

Ok, I’m officially thinking we are getting either Young or Blair. At #30, I didn’t think either was possible.

  • 120. June 25, 2009

I’m starting to get this craving for Blair. Only need 3 more teams to pass. If you’re the Cavs, why not take the gamble on him at #30?

  • DJ
    121. June 25, 2009

I was starting to think that as well Rick…reminds me a little of Tayshawn Prince; tall, lanky, great wingspan to defend on the perimeter, decent shooter, don’t really need him to play down low

  • 122. June 25, 2009

Minny is going Blair I bet.

  • AMC
    123. June 25, 2009

Even if we don’t get Blair or Young, Ellington would be there, which wouldn’t be too bad i guess.

  • 124. June 25, 2009

There are some NICE picks available right now. I wish Ferry would just move up now and get the guy he wants.

  • 125. June 25, 2009

Lets not forget, though, that means there are some NICE picks available for the Lakers, too.

  • 126. June 25, 2009

    Here’s a shock…Tribe gives up a run in the ninth in a tie game…

  • 127. June 25, 2009

    Lakers sold their pick Rock

  • AMC
    128. June 25, 2009

Wow – seems a little early for Carroll. If he was going somewhere that wasn’t a complete hell hole like Memphis, I’d like him a lot as a hustle player

  • 129. June 25, 2009

Well…..unless Blair and Young go in the next 2 picks, the Cavs are getting one of them. Minny doesn’t need this pick, though. Ferry can get this pick.

  • AMC
    130. June 25, 2009

@ Rick – don’t bring those negative Tribe vibes in here son!

  • Onur
    131. June 25, 2009

Lakers sold their draft pick to Knicks actually..

  • 132. June 25, 2009

Who did the Lakers sell the pick too?

  • 133. June 25, 2009

    The Knicks

  • 134. June 25, 2009

Windy raining on my Blair parade: “Have to admit, I never considered Dejuan Blair for Cavs. Doesn’t fit their needs. Cavs would be happy with either Young or Summers I think”

  • Tim
    135. June 25, 2009

Blair, Young, and Summers and Brown are still there too- we’re getting some length no matter what now. Woo!

  • 136. June 25, 2009

Is that official? I still have Lakers on the ESPN DraftCast.

  • DJ
    137. June 25, 2009

    @126: who are the Tribe?

What about Brown out of X? Might he work for CLE?

  • 138. June 25, 2009

Yeah, that was announced earlier today.

  • 139. June 25, 2009

    From Windy-
Lots of surprise picks in the 20s for me, shocked some of the guys who are on the board. There have to be reasons, I suppose.

Yeah Windy, but a reason could be they are morons.

  • AMC
    140. June 25, 2009

I don’t want Summers – watched him here in DC on GTown – don’t think he’s got enough game.

  • 141. June 25, 2009

Love that pick. I think Ellington can flat out play.

  • 142. June 25, 2009

Wayne Ellington means we get one of the two!

  • AMC
    143. June 25, 2009

So now either Young or Blair are guaranteed to be on the board

  • DJ
    144. June 25, 2009

Love called Ellington on Twitter…not too shabby

  • 145. June 25, 2009

At this point, I want Young. Which means the Knicks will take him here, probably. Spite!

  • MikeZ
    146. June 25, 2009

    no Toney Douglas talk?

  • 147. June 25, 2009

  • Lars
    174. June 25, 2009

oh fantastic… one of those guys that you draft and hold onto and never hear again.

    uggggggh.

  • 175. June 25, 2009

    Danny Ferry is high.

  • 176. June 25, 2009

Looking through draft guide now. Sorry, know nothing about him

  • DJ
    177. June 25, 2009

WTF????? Basically Ferry is saying that Blair, Young, Brown, Mills aren’t worth a 2nd Division guy from the CONGO?

    Man, I got nothin.

Dejuan Blair and Sam Young: Both on the board and they select Desagna Diop 2.0.

@190 Yes the Cavs have pick #46 the trade with Shaq turned out to be for next year’s 2nd rounder

  • 201. June 25, 2009

So today we pick up a 37 year old center in his last season and a guy who has a 20% chance of ever putting on the Wine & Gold.

I’ve ALWAYS thought that LeBron was going to re-sign here in 2010. Today, I’m not so sure. We better win the title next year… it is the last chance we have

  • Ryan

  • RexKramerDangerSeeker
    221. June 25, 2009

Maybe it’s a cap space clearing move by Ferry. Draft a first rounder you have no intention of signing. According to ESPN, he was on the same team as Rubio, but a 2nd squad guy.

Again, we collapse under our own Cleveland’ness.

  • 222. June 25, 2009

My best guess is that with the extra luxury tax money the Cavs picked up today in Shaq, Gilbert simply wanted to save $1 million? I mean, that’s the BEST answer I can think of. That’s all I got.

  • Tom
    223. June 25, 2009

Chad Ford’s evaluation of young Christian:

“Projected: late 2nd round – undrafted”

“He’s a down- the-road pick for the Cavs. We’ll check back in on him in a few years.”

Basically, we’ll see you in 2013, Christian. If you haven’t learned to play, then we’ll bring you back in 2015.

  • Morph
    224. June 25, 2009

People get a clue…seriously. They are talking Pietrus talent (wouldnt he have looked good in the wine and gold instead of the Orlando blue and black this year). If we do not draft him, someone else does. This is classic SA Spurs drafting strategy. Get a high upside guy that you can stash away for a while. If the Cavs had taken Blair or Summers or Young what would they have gotten – a BENCH player. Wake up! Neither of those guys were going to come in play a major role yet any role (especially if we mid-level a Matt Barnes type).

  • 225. June 25, 2009

Just checked….the #30 pick gets $824,200. So Gilbert just saved himself 800k, I guess.

Wouldnt Blair/ Young and Mills have been nice? Im just so confused with what Ferry just did.

  • 273. June 25, 2009

Danny Green F from North Carolina-

    from ESPN-
    Positives:
    # All-around player who excels on both ends of the floor
    # Offensively very smooth
    # Has a nice stroke with growing NBA 3-point range
    # He’s a good rebounder for his position
    # A potential lockdown defender
    # Tough, great basketball IQ

    Negatives:

    # Just an average athlete
    # Not particularly explosive
    # Lacks great lateral quickness
    # More than a role player in the pros?

  • 274. June 25, 2009

I can’t hide my Carolina bias, but I love this pick a lot. For the 2nd year in a row, too, the Cavs picked a guy from the National Championship team, which I think is a nice quality. Green can fill Sasha’s “role” on the team at worst, so I feel a little better now.

  • 275. June 25, 2009

@ Bobby- forget 2 forwards. The first guy isn’t coming to America this year. He is a project pick. They have no intention to sign him to a deal.

  • 279. June 25, 2009

You can count on the Cavs signing Rasheed. I just know in the pit of my bowels that it’s going to happen.

  • 280. June 25, 2009

@ Bobby- first, they have to resign Andy Varejao. Then they go hard after Matt Barnes. That is my guess.

  • 281. June 25, 2009

@ Rock- I won’t allow my bowels to consider Sheed.

  • 282. June 25, 2009

  • AMC
    289. June 25, 2009

I like the Green pick. Seems like a solid role player type from a winning program. It will make me feel a little better about the Cavs completely wasting their first round pick. I guess they just felt like they wanted to save that million dollars for veteran contracts and maybe taking on salary through sign and trades.

Obviously tonight in a rather uneventful manner, but it’s pretty clear to me that the Cavs are far from done this off-season. Today they added two pieces. After July 8 the rest will start to come into play.

  • 290. June 25, 2009

It would take more than the MLE for Atlanta to let him go, unfortunately. They’re comfortable paying him the MLE.

  • 291. June 25, 2009

On an unrelated note, Goran Suton going to Utah makes all the sense in the world. I could have smelled that pick a mile away.

  • 292. June 25, 2009

On a more unrelated note, WFNY set a record for number of comments in a 24 hour period today…

  • bobby
    293. June 25, 2009

I think they still need a PF to come in, and maybe a guard too?
This linup is just looking like it has holes-
    C- Shaq
    PF- AV
    SF- LBJ
    G- West
    G- Mo
Bench- Z, Boobie, hickson, Jackson, Green…. any other name im missing here?

  • 294. June 25, 2009

well, Kinsey is a possibility still.

  • 295. June 25, 2009

Cavs definitely need another guard. Especially if Boobie plays like he did last year.

  • bobby
    296. June 25, 2009

so right now we are looking at adding Matt Barnes and thinking this team is ready to go? thats disheartening…

  • AMC
    297. June 25, 2009

I agree Bobby – a backup PG and an athletic swingman are definitely in order.

Btw… Ferry was scheduled on ESPN but hasn’t shown up – any chance he’s trying to buy a pick to get Patrick Mills?

  • bobby
    298. June 25, 2009

I sure hope hes trying to buy something… maybe he is trying to explain the mistake he made to the NBA saying that he had Sam Young on his card but accidently gave them one that they had written up as a joke

  • 299. June 25, 2009

I don’t know how many moves you think this team has left to make. They can sign one player with the MLE, and fill the roster with minimum contracts.

Funny, but we (the WFNY writers) were getting ripped all day because we weren’t calling the Shaq deal the steal of the decade. Sasha and Wallace were the only real bargaining pieces we had, and so whatever we did with those picks was basically it.

  • 300. June 25, 2009

And that was before they passed on using their first round pick.

  • Tim
    301. June 25, 2009

How many trades have the Rockets made now? I think that’s 3 in the second round.

  • 302. June 25, 2009

That’s what I was thinking Tim, how many players do they need?

  • bobby
    303. June 25, 2009

I still thought 2-3 role players would be added, and the Cavs would buy a higher pick then what they had, and actually get someone people had heard of before.

  • Tim
    304. June 25, 2009

I don’t know, it’s ridiculous. Anyone know of a site that lists all these trades? I can’t find anything like that on ESPN.

  • 305. June 25, 2009

So, do they call LeBron ahead of the announcement and explain what’s about to happen so LeBron doesn’t react like we do?

  • bobby
    306. June 25, 2009

Eyenga said the Cavs gave him no indication they were going to draft him. He just came to MSG hoping to get picked by someone.- Windhurst tweet

  • S-Dub
    307. June 26, 2009

People need to relax. The difference between Sam Young and Danny Green isn’t big at all, Green actually has room to improve while Young probably doesn’t.

How can you people call Ferry an idiot when none of you studied nearly the amount of tape, played nearly as much basketball, and don’t have the solid track record that Ferry has with the Cavs? Don’t like the Shaq trade? Well then offer me up a deal that you would do… How do you know that teams didn’t just flat out refuse to trade with us? YOU DON’T. They didn’t wanna pay a guaranteed contract to a guy who probably isn’t going to help a CHAMPIONSHIP contending team, and opted to develop some kid.

  • 311. June 26, 2009

I was off doing man things and didn’t watch much of the draft, but I did do a wtf when I saw the Cavs 1st rounder. I like the Green pick. But yea.

My bowels are afraid of Sheed, but it’ll happen. Also afraid of fiber, but I don’t think it’s just me.

  • Chaz
    312. June 26, 2009

The odds of picking a successful NBA player at no. 30 is probably 5 to 1. Rather than take a risk on a higher profile player that would probably not contribute to a championship, the Cavs preserved a couple million dollars of next year’s cap which they can use to help obtain another high-level free agent (e.g. Bosh). Also, Green could help this year and will cost considerably less than a similar player taken in the first round. No matter your gut reaction, this was well played by the Cavs.

  • bobby
    313. June 26, 2009

I was more disappointed that after all the trade talk and possibilities of buying a pick to move up and get someone who could contribute (they still need 2 role players to help out), they got someone who may get to the NBA someday. If they got Blair then Im sitting here thinking, wow, they did a great job with keeping their picks. If they got Blair, they may not need another PF right away. Green might become the wing F that they are looking for, who knows right now. but point is, it seemed like they missed out on a chance to get players to help this year when they are trying to win a championship.
