At least one Cavalier wants Matt Barnes

While there’s been some talk amongst folks here about the Cavs signing Matt Barnes, it appears as though Mo wants Barnes on the Cavs as well (and maybe knows something we don’t). Quote the Williams:

So between Shaq and Mo, there are two Cavs posting on Twitter fairly regularly. Most players have Facebook fan pages, including Z, who updates things every now and then (though who knows if it’s him or a Cavs PR person). Add Brian Windhorst’s fantastic Twitter page to the mix and you’ve got a pretty complete circle of social networking news. Of course you already have myself, Scott, Craig, Rock, and Rick in your feeds – that’s pretty much a given.

Nothing against Matt Barnes, but I’m hoping it’s Linus Kleiza. Kleiza is bigger, stronger…….can post up and has 3 point range; much better consistent career shooting stats than Barnes.

We had the best record in the league, then we got Shaq. I say we are good to go.
Getting Kleiza (or Barnes) would not be “blowing our money”. Either can provided needed bench strength and matchup help. Neither would tie up our cap long term. I LOVE the Shaq acquisition………let’s keep putting pieces around that.
The deal is in reality you don’t know who’s going to be a bust and who’s going to be a boom……….if you get several pieces you have a better probablity of one or more of them really contributing.
