Ohio State’s “Throwbacks” Unearthed
Written By: Scott | Category: Ohio State Buckeyes | Comments: 30Much has been made of the jerseys that will be worn by the Ohio State Buckeyes during their “rivalry” week against the Michigan Wolverines. Thanks to Eleven Warriors, we finally know what the jerseys look like complete with white helmets.
Feel free to unleash your thoughts and opinions in the comments.

not an osu fan (gamecock fan)
but those are badass
a gamecock fan on wfny? thats different. i live in myrtle beach…u?
Those are real nice, I’d def buy a #4 to rep Coleman.
I would define myself as a tradionalist, and when I first saw the jersey by itself I hated it. But with the helmet and the pants it looks badass.
I like the pants alot, but I’m still not sure how I feel about the helmet/uniform. I’ll be able to make up my mind once I see the team don these on Nov. 21st vs. Michigan and see the team as a whole.
LOVE IT!!
Do want

graduated from SC 08 sir
Don’t like the helmet… maybe the buckeyes on it will make me feel different
Well, it’s only once.
BTW, I heard that the Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe has filed for bankruptcy. How is that possible?
Not a tUOS fan by any means, but I’m digging it.
Love the pants, can’t decide about the jersey. Under normal circumstances, I’d love the helmet, but the Buckeyes current helmet is a thing of beauty. What is Michigan wearing?
i’m all for a throwback once a decade or so.
I like the helmets and I wish I could see a better angle and the back of the jersey
what year are the throwbacks modelled after?
1954, I believe.
Though not a fan of Tosu by any means, those are some snazzy jerseys. Then again, I’m a fan of a lot of alternate and throwback jerseys, so I might not be the best judge.
I’m waiting for a team (other than the Cavs) to have an alt/throwback that has absolutely no connection to the team’s history or colors — the Browns wearing powder blue and pink, for example, or the Yankees in the throwbacks the Broncos have been rocking this season.
@10 The Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe fell pretty far behind on their rent. They’re looking to turn it into a hotel, but the Buckeyes are losing some history b/c it use to house one of Woody’s favorite restaurants, Jai Lai.
I like it, WAAY better than the crazy FSU version from Nike. Just remove the spiderwebbing on the shoulders and it would be cooler.
@ zee – agreed about the spiderwebbing. That looks odd.
I like the jersey and the helmet, but not crazy about the pants. Hopefully the longsleeves that go under the jersey are tasteful, but knowing nike, they will not be. (and I am wearing Air Max 97s as I type this)
The outfit looks good. The white helmets unfortunalty should not have the buckeye leaves. The Buckeye leaves didn’t start until 1967, and if these are to be throwbacks of 1954 then that equals no leaves.
gosh, one down year for the bucks and all of these ‘not a fan by any means’ guys start to crawl out of the woodwork.
21 – good info. Do you think they’re gonna stick to that or wear them anyway?
If they had the 1954 Numbers on there I’d love it. The way they are now, I’m meh. Love the pants, the helmet is better than I thought it’d be, but I think the jersey leaves something to be desired.
Anyways, back to the heffe.
They could wear Zubaz and a parka and they’ll still kick the crap out of that team up north.
(I do like the uni’s btw.)
zubaz – lol – only if they have mullets flowing out from under the helmets, amiright?
As long as they win they can be wearing anything they want
It’s not really a 1954 throwback… It’s more of a “throwback mashup” or “tribute” uniform to past great Buckeye teams. The helmets in ‘54 didn’t have numbers on them… That came a little later according to these guys!http://www.helmethut.com/College/Ohio%20State/osuindex.html
