WFNY East Meet-up: Nov 18th at Fado (DC)

So the Cavs are playing the Wiz this Wednesday in DC, which means it’s time for the local chapter of WFNY East to meet up and drink the beer realize that we are real, actual people and not internet entities. So, here are the deets:
Meetup Location: Fado Irish Pub – 808 7th St NW (Across both 7th and H from Chinatown exit of Metro)
Time: I’ll be there around 5:30 or so – come whenever you like, game’s at 7.
I’ll update my Twitter account when I get there. Hope to see some of you folks around. Looking specifically at you Eli, CJG, DCBucks, AMC, PiFML, Jordan, and Amin.
AWESOME EDIT: Forgot to add this originally – tickets are available for $10 off through OSU’s DC Alumni chapter. Anybody can use the link. Group code = ‘osualum’. I bought my tickets through there and will be in the nosebleeds, section 421.
Edit: The title was originally incorrect. The meetup is this Wednesday the 16th, not the 14th. I’m still using the German calendar. Apologies for the confusion.

Denny – I’d love to, but I fear I’m going to be chained to my desk until right before tip off. If that changes, I’ll be there.
I’m going with a posse of friends to Bar Louie since it’s my birfday 3 days later. If it weren’t for them and the fact that they’ll buy drinks for me, I’d definitely be at Fado, no doubt.

Just wanted to mark the occasion that 1) my wife commented on WFNY HOLY COW and 2) there is, in fact, a Five Guys right there. Good to know that you’ve seen all that DC has to offer, Rick!

It seems like there is never a cleveland meet up, which is odd because this is a Cleveland Blog
Not sure I can make this one, but I will try. I had someone looking into tickets for me, but haven’t heard back. That and I may not have a kitchen pass for Wednesday.
Well, whipjacka – I think I get more excited about chances to meet up with fellow Cleveland fans being away from Ohio. But yea, this is the third DC meetup since April, and there’s only been one in Cleveland.

whipjacka – I’m with you there. I live about 10 minutes from downtown, and usually hang out at bars in the Parma area (where most of my friends live). I’m all for a WFNY meet & greet in Cleveland. I half-heartedly threw out an invite for a Browns game at Parma Tavern (where me and my crew usually are for Browns games) and didn’t really get a response. But I’m in if there ever is one. (As a bonus, if it’s for a Cavs game, I’ll probably show up in my Andy jersey/wig.)
Glad there is a DC meet up happening again. I remember last years was a big success. Here is an idea, how about we do these for games that we CAN’T actually go to or watch for free on TV. It would be nice to do a dc meet up for the big games against the Lakers, Celtics, Magic and other teams.
Not a bad idea Sean – if there’s a specific game you’d want to get together for send me an email a few days before and I’ll put up a conch call (NEWS TEAM ASSEMBBBBBLLLLEEE) during that game’s preview for the game. I’ve got email addys for about 8 people around DC – if the one you used in your comment is legit, that makes 9.
