Worst Weekend: Ohio Sports or The Financial Market?

- Buckeyes Blown Out.
- Browns Collapse in Red Zone. Twice.
- Tribe Loses Three of Four Versus Kansas City.
- Several Towns Still Without Electricity.
New York:
- Lehman Brothers Closes Doors.
- Merrill Lynch Purchased By Bank of America.
- American International Group Looks for Help.
- Market is Down 300 points, and it is only 10:20 AM.

I am still indescribably angry about this past weekend. The only saving grace that I can think of is that Ohio State just might get the chance to redeem itself in the Rose Bowl if USC does lose one or two along the way and that Cleveland will get another chance later this season at that team whose name i dare not mention. Indians will be contenders next year. The state of Ohio has nowhere to go but up.
The financial market has seen worse.
these guys are supposed to be good football coaches right?
You left out where gas prices are going, since so many refineries were damaged and are out of commission for the time being. I’d vote for the Financial Market, because I think the fixes for the sports teams are going to be easier to achieve.
DP – I think gas is just as expensive, if not worse out there.
And, if the Browns push me to the point of no return, I can just stop buying my tickets. I wish I could just stop driving to work.
Well, try Washington state sports if you want sympathy.
Mariners swept in Anaheim by the Angels.
Seahawks lost to the 49ers at home in OT.
Washington State flew early to Baylor and got creamed by 28.
Washington lost to Oklahoma at home by 41.
Yes Ohio is a bigger and more “important state” than Washington.
Chicago had its baseball games delayed because of rain in IL and TX.
Anaheim should sweep the Mariners. We shouldn’t drop three to KC. And neither Washington nor W State were a top-five BCS team.
But I do agree…that’s pretty bad. Just not as hyped up as the Ohio games were this week…
After this weekend, Ohio is about as important as a genital wart. You know its there, but you’d rather not be near it.
All in all, i’m far more concerned with the economy. Like DP said, I can always abandon Cleveland sports – but working is kind of a necessity.
Ohio sports vs. Wall Street?
The Reds won back-to-back extra-innings games against Arizona, and Miami U got past the fearsome Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
