Songalia vs. James

Given the end of the game, this seems to be an overlooked portion.  Possibly because it was at the beginning, or possibly because there were plenty of other things to worry about.  But I figured it was something that we should rehash a bit.

A few things of mention:

- Brendan Haywood fouled out with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter.  Had Songalia been ejected, the final defensive set for the Wizards would have been altered.

- Songalia had a few key free throws at the end.  He’s a significantly better shooter from the line than both Haywood and Andray Blatche.

- It wouldn’t surprise me if this is revisited by the league before Friday’s game.

I am truely amazed with how much the league and it’s officials have let Washington get away with in this series in regards to the way they’ve gone after James. How many intentional punches to the face does it take for somebody to finally get suspended? Do they need to see blood first? Or a brawl instead?

it would have been a stupid move, but i wish lebron would’ve just knocked his lights out right there.

They’re obviously hoping for some sort of retaliation. Fans of both sides keep saying that they want both teams to be at full staff – obviously burnt by last season – but it’s blatant that this isn’t true in terms of the actual Wizards staff.

    This is getting ridiculous.

Songalia, Stevenson, and even Haywood should all be suspended for their flagrants. Looking back at Horry’s foul on Steve Nash during the playoffs last year, all three of these appear to be just as harsh. Especially Songalia’s last night.

The Wizards are obviously waiting for someone on the Cavs to retaliate, and sooner or later it just might happen. And of course, Cleveland will probably lose an important player to suspension. If I’m Mike Brown, I bring Dwayne Jones off the bench just to take someone out. Losing him won’t matter and it’s about time someone sends a message back to these assholes. If this were baseball and someone kept drilling Hafner, Sizemore, or Martinez in the playoffs, there’s no doubt retaliation would have already come.
